We&rsquo;re looking for a skilled Water and Sewer Utility Heavy Equipment Operator with experience operating heavy equipment around underground utilities and pipelines, and who takes pride in precision, safety, and craftsmanship in the Denver, NC area. You&rsquo;ll operate key machinery that keeps our pipeline projects moving and help deliver reliable water and sewer systems that serve entire communities.
Our team will travel to job sites throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia.
 
We are currently offering a limited-time sign-on bonus of $4,000 for new hires with a valid CDL license, and sign-on bonuses for new hires without a current CDL license are also available at a reduced amount. New employees who meet the criteria outlined in our sign-on bonus program will be eligible for the full payout.
 
The starting hourly rate is $21.00-$30.00 per hour depending on experience.

What You&rsquo;ll Do

Operate a variety of heavy equipment to perform open-cut trenching, grading, and utility installation for underground infrastructure projects.
Serve as the primary &ldquo;lead hoe&rdquo; operator, responsible for cutting trenches to grade, backfilling excavations, and compacting soil to proper specifications.
Support the installation of sewer, water, and storm drainage systems with a strong focus on precision, safety, and overall efficiency.
Perform manual tasks as needed, including laying pipe, coring utility holes, setting structures, and assembling joints and fittings.
Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols while using rigging equipment, gas detectors, fall protection harnesses, and push cameras during daily operations.
Operate jet vac and hydro excavation trucks through the course of a job using high pressure water and vacuum systems for cleaning and excavation as needed 

 
What We Need

Minimum 5-6 years of construction experience in underground utilities.
Experienced in the operation of excavators, loaders, and trenching equipment.
Strong understanding of pipe-laying and utility installation methods.
Ability to read and follow project plans and specifications.
Reliable, safety-focused, and dedicated to producing high-quality work.
Ability to travel weekly throughout North and South Carolina.
Represents a high standard of integrity, reliability, attitude, and work ethic.
Proficient with all tools and practices related to installation of sewer, water, and storm drain.
Expert in operation of all equipment utilized in open cut trenching and utility installation.
Expert in operating as &lsquo;Lead Hoe&rsquo;, cutting trenches on grade, backfilling, and compaction.
Proficient with safety rigging, harnesses, gas detectors, tripods, push cameras, etc.
Proficient with any and all hand work associated with laying pipe, connecting to manholes, coring manholes, fusing pipe, belling pipe (slip joint and restrained joint), assembling machinal joints.
Candidate must be proficient at loader and excavator operation necessary to backfill trenches, perform compaction, etc.

We are currently looking for a Dump Truck Driver with a Valid Class A or B CDL license to join our team in the Denver, NC surrounding area. Our Dump Truck Drivers are responsible for safely operating a commercial motor vehicle, dump truck, or similar vehicle to advance water and sewer pipe installation. Candidates with experience driving commercial motor trucks with different trailer combinations are strongly encouraged to apply.

What You'll Do:

Loading and unloading of construction equipment
Drive heavy equipment and commercial trucks with different trailer combinations to and from construction work sites
Perform daily safety checks on fluid levels on oil, water, and fuel inspections for leaks and damage to the vehicle
Responsible for Post Inspection DVIR and repair request forms. 
Maintain Pre-trip and post-trip DVIR
Drive dump trucks, vacuum trucks, flatbeds, or other commercial vehicles
Calculate weights of equipment with truck/trailer combinations to stay within DOT permitting restrictions and guidelines. 

 
What We Need from You:

Valid Class A or B CDL license is required 
3+ years of industry-related experience in driving a commercial vehicle with a GVWR or CGVWR of 26,000 lbs or more
Knowledge and understanding of FMCSA and USDOT cargo securement rules and safety regulations is a plus
Experience driving different commercial vehicles and trailers with airbrake and standard transmissions
Comfortable driving in high-traffic areas both in and out of construction zones
Able to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks with or without reasonable accommodations
Able and willing to travel weekly
