      <description><![CDATA[Bluegrass Specialty Surgery Center is hiring a full-time Circulator Registered Nurse for our surgical services department in Lexington, Ky. 
 
The Circulator Registered Nurse (RN) is an integral part of the perioperative team and serves as an advocate for patients who are undergoing anesthesia and/or sedation. As an Operating Room Nurse, you will be responsible for managing nursing care within the OR through observing the surgical team from a broad perspective and assisting the team in creating and maintaining a safe, comfortable environment. The Circulator Registered Nurse's responsibilities include but are not limited to, coordinating complete nursing assessments and care for patients and participates in patient and family teaching for assigned patients within the Operating Room.

Job Requirements: 


Education requirement:  


Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
Kentucky RN License


Certification requirements: 

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required
 Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required
 PALS preferred


Participates as a team member in support of the total perioperative process
Organizes time, equipment, supplies, and personnel to provide effective and efficient case management
Supervises and directs patient care in a single operating room as well as two local procedure rooms.
Organizes nursing activities efficiently, considering staff abilities when delegating activities
Delegates activities appropriate to the abilities of available staff members
Considers cost containment by using supplies economically and in effective turnover time
Assists with supply, drug and equipment inventories to maintain stock level and availability 
Addresses patient needs during admission to the operating room, with attention to requirements specific to the ASC setting
Transports patients to the operating room observing policies/procedures, safety requirements, and patient needs
Identifies the patient and correct surgical intervention according to policy/procedure and communicates such information to all members of the surgical team
Reviews patient's medical records/needs to plan care with other healthcare team members 
Multiple other duties as assigned

      <description><![CDATA[Bluegrass Specialty Surgery Center is hiring a Scrub Technician for our Surgical Services Department in Lexington, KY.  
 
As a Surgical Scrub Technician, you will be responsible for assisting the surgeons during surgical procedures to ensure the procedure is executed as smoothly and efficiently as possible. The Scrub Technician will prepare and organize the operating room (OR), clean and sterilize equipment, maintain a sterile environment, and perform other duties as assigned.

This Scrub Technician opportunity is a full-time position located on-site at our surgery center in Lexington, KY. The Scrub Tech reports to the OR Manager.  

Surgical Scrub Technician Roles and Responsibilities: 


Functions as a member of the surgical team
Performs pre-surgery preparation such as positioning, draping the patient, counting sponges and instruments, and planning and caring for supplies and instruments
Sets up a sterile and sanitary environment, and maintains the sterile field for the patient during procedures
Provide surgeons and patients with necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment needed for surgery
Counts appropriate items with circulating nurse and assists with nurses orders as needed
Inspect, replace, and sterilize medical instruments for surgery and participates in stocking and restocking medical supplies 
Utilizes correct body mechanics in moving, transporting, and positioning patients, stretchers, and/or tables in order to prevent injury to patient and personnel
Strictly adheres to all OSHA guidelines, safety and infection control policies 


Required Skills & Qualifications: 


High School Diploma or Equivalent 
Experience working in an Operating Room as a Surgical Scrub Technician 

2 years of experience preferred


Completion of a surgical technician course
Experience in an Ambulatory Surgery Center is preferred
Certification as a surgical technologist preferred
Advanced knowledge in anatomy and physiology, instrumentation, sterilization techniques, and general operations of a sterile environment
Must know policies and procedures pertaining to duties and be able to fulfill verbal and written instructions

This Radiology Technologist opportunity is a full-time position located on-site at our surgery center in Lexington, KY. The Radiology Technologist reports to the OR Manager.

c) Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to ensure safety of patients and team
members
d) Ensure radiologic equipment remains in working order. Report equipment malfunctions to supervisor
e) Maintain sterile field
f) Serve as back-up for team members as needed
g) help turn over between cases

 
Required Skills & Qualifications: 
 

Associate of Applied Science Degree for Radiology Technology 
Valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification
State of Kentucky Radiation License 
Positive attitude, desire to efficiently support the care of patients, work in a team relationship with other health care workers to produce positive outcomes
Ability to promote favorable facility image with physicians, patients, insurance companies and the public
Knowledge of radiologic standards, requirements, and regulations 
Knowledge of radiologic safety, cleanliness, and infection control policies 
Knowledge of radiologic equipment uses and maintenance

Bluegrass Specialty Surgery Center is hiring a Registered Pre/Post Operative Staff Nurse for our Surgical Services Department in Lexington, KY.  
 
TheRegistered Pre/Post Op Nurse (RN) is an integral part of the pre/post-operativeteam. As a Preop/Postop Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for the patient's admission to our facility, comprehensive pre-operative care, immediate post-operative care, and stabilization for return to the home environment.

This Pre/Post Operative Registered Nurse (RN) opportunity is a full-time position located on-site at our surgery center in Lexington, KY. The Pre/Post Operative RN reports to the Pre/Post Operative Manager.

Registered Pre/Post Operative Staff Nurse Roles and Responsibilities: 


Responsible for patient's admission and pre-operative care
Holistic preparation for surgery, including pre-operative education, communication with escort/family members, psychosocial needs, utilizing preference cards, and acting under established protocols, practices, and standing orders
Coordinates pre-operative lab work required for individual patients
Performs thorough and accurate continual patient assessments
Anticipates potential problems during patient assessment; documents & reports pertinent results to the anesthesiologist, supervisor, and/or surgeon appropriately
Supervises and directs, as delegated, the activities of non-professional personnel
Acts as discharge nurse when assigned, including patients and significant others (SO)/ families in developing an individualized plan of care 
Educate patients/SO/families to their disease process and plan of care 
Serve as a patient advocate and be responsible for providing care to patients requiring treatment of any medical, surgical, or other condition
Demonstrates good nursing knowledge base and rationale for decision-making
Documents actions in medical record completely and accurately in a timely manner
