We are recruiting a Production Fulfillment & Innovation Lead to join our team of health care professionals. The Production Fulfillment & Innovation Lead is responsible for ensuring daily production needs are met and optimizing processes to support high-quality, efficient workflow. This position provides team leadership support to direct workflow under the supervision of a pharmacist. This role serves as a department innovator, optimizing the use of technology and equipment to drive quality and process improvements. This role develops metrics to monitor employee, departmental, and fiscal performance. This position ensures optimal organization and condition of pharmacy and warehouse area space and equipment. The Production Fulfillment & Innovation Lead maintains awareness of processes related to supply chain, inventory, receiving, and shipping distribution testing, maintaining coordination and directly supporting tasks as needed. This position maintains processes required for departmental regulatory and accreditation compliance.



Job type: Full-time

Pay range:  $61,429.51- $76,802.12 
​​​​annually, depending on experience. Actual pay is based on qualifications. Applicants who do not exceed the minimum qualifications will only be eligible for the low end of the pay range.

Position specifications:

  1. Education and experience
  1. Required:
      1. High School diploma or GED
      2. Active Oregon Pharmacy Technician License or Certified Oregon Pharmacy Technician License.
  2. Preferred:
      1. Three or more years’ leadership experience in highly-regulated order fulfillment setting
      2. Three or more years’ pharmacy experience, specialty pharmacy preferred
      3. Forward-thinking with excellent problem-solving ability
      4. Demonstrates a high degree of responsibility and accountability
      5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
      6. Successful history of overseeing and implementing large scale projects

    1. Must have excellent organizational, time management, and leadership skills with problem-solving ability.
    2. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
    3. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

  4. Working conditions
    1. Work is performed in a pharmacy environment, with extensive keyboard and computer work.  Work also involves frequent moving of packaging, boxes, and items from different areas within the warehouse.  Packaging supplies weighing 40 pounds are regularly moved from the freezer to workstations.
    2. Business needs may occasionally require work in excess of 40 hours per week, including work outside of standard work week.

Essential functions and activities:

  1. Performs all activities under the ultimate supervision, direction, and control of a pharmacist.
  2. Responsible for overseeing and ensuring completion of pharmacy processes and fulfillment of orders according to established timelines and standards.
  3. Supports the day-to-day direction of pharmacy production staff to maintain highly efficient workflow.
  4. Actively seeks, evaluates, and implements innovations to improve quality, processes, and reduce costs. Leverages technology and equipment to achieve optimal results.
  5. Ensures adequate supply and maintenance of critical pharmacy materials including but not limited to shipping supplies, medical supplies, and department equipment.
  6. Under the oversight of the Pharmacist-In-Charge (PIC), is responsible for creating, revising, and maintaining documentation of all pharmacy production standard operating procedures and reference materials.
  7. Utilizes effective measures to evaluate quality and performance of department and staff.
  8. Maintains open and effective communication channels within the department and across operations to provide and receive feedback.
  9. Develops valuable and effective department metrics and performance expectations and proposes and implements strategies to achieve department goals.
  10. Demonstrates fiscal responsibility including use of resources, equipment, and minimization of product loss. Composes thorough evaluations to monitor and improve departmental fiscal performance.
  11. Understands requirements and oversees processes to achieve successful shipping temperature validation and seasonal packout implementation.
  12. Actively seeks to improve department processes, with oversight from PIC.
  13. Collaborates across departments to strategize and implement initiatives to achieve company goals.
  14. Supports effective management of individual and department time and resources to meet workload demands and deadlines.
  15. Coordinates and delivers staff meetings and individual performance feedback sessions as requested.
  16. Oversees medication receiving processes as requested and coordinates with applicable departments to ensure alignment with DSCSA requirements.
  17. Supports thorough and effective tracking, evaluation, and documentation of reshipped and returned prescription orders.
  18. Tracks and documents internal and external quality events according to company procedures. Performs thorough root cause analysis and suggests steps to prevent recurrence.
  19. Supports maintenance of an effective pharmacy production staff schedule to consistently meet business needs.
  20. Maintains up to date practical knowledge of department workflow and processes to support production needs, as necessary.
  21. Maintains up to date knowledge of accreditation and regulatory department requirements. Supports processes management to ensure complete adherence to standards.
  22. Supports creation and maintenance of effective employee training activities and adheres to all compliance requirements regarding documentation of training and competency approval prior to engagement in independent work.
  23. Provides support to all aspects of inventory management as needed.
  24. Maintains strict organization of all items and medications within the pharmacy and associated warehouse area. 
  25. Supports security of the pharmacy production area and informs the pharmacist on duty and Pharmacist-In-Charge of any concerns or opportunities identified.
  26. Maintains active Oregon license. Informs supervisor within 1 business day (and Oregon Board of Pharmacy within 10 days) of any arrests, convictions, suspected or known violations of law, or any other conduct that might affect or has affected license status. Reports to Oregon Board of Pharmacy within 15 days any changes to name, residence address, or mailing address, email, phone, or employment.
  27. Adheres to regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be revised from time to time, which is essential to the successful performance of this position.
  28. Actively participates and provides support as needed to fellow leadership and quality program staff to ensure activities related to the company’s quality management program and quality improvement activities maintain priority focus and are effectively executed. This may include but is not limited to activities that promote objective and systematic measurement, monitoring, and evaluation of services and defined Quality Improvement Projects (QIPs) that may result from such efforts.
  29. Complies with the company’s Human Resources policies, Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct, and all department policies and procedures, including protecting confidential company, employee, and customer information; attending work punctually and regularly; and adhering to good safety practices in all activities.
  30. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
