Position Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and dependable Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our dynamic team at Orthopaedic Associates of Maine in our Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC). This is a float position that will support Induction, Operating Room (OR), and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) by assisting with direct patient care and performing essential room turnover and cleaning duties. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a strong sense of initiative, attention to detail, and a team-oriented mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing patients for surgery, including gowning, vital signs, and comfort measures.
  • Support the clinical team in Induction, OR, and PACU by providing patient care under the supervision of licensed staff.
  • Perform timely and thorough room turnovers between procedures, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and infection control.
  • Transport patients safely between surgical areas.
  • Monitor and communicate patient needs and changes in condition to the nursing staff.
  • Restock supplies and ensure rooms are properly prepared for upcoming procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment.
  • Follow all facility protocols, HIPAA regulations, and infection control guidelines.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to support wherever needed within the ASC.

Qualifications:

  • Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Previous experience in a surgical or acute care setting is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to excellence in patient care.

Schedule:

  • Full-time, Monday through Friday, with flexible hours to support ASC needs.
  • Must be able to float between departments as assigned.
