LOCATION: Astec Industries, Chattanooga, TN
ABOUT THE POSITION
The Employee Relations Business Partner is responsible for improving consistency, compliance, and employee experience across our Chattanooga manufacturing operations. This role will focus on resolving complex employee relations matters, providing core HR support for Astec's Chattanooga-based facilities, and driving engagement efforts aligned with our cultural goals.
Deliverables & Responsibilities
· Lead and resolve ER investigations fairly and in compliance with legal and internal standards
· Serve as a partner to site leadership on HR policies, onboarding, and performance practices
· Create and enhance HR policies and processes to improve operational consistency
· Champion employee engagement programs and foster cross-site collaboration
· Provides bandwidth relief to site HR and leadership teams
· Support leave administration and case management for Workers' Comp, FMLA, and ADA (preferred)
· Provide workforce insights through advanced Excel and Power BI (preferred)
To be successful in this role, your experience and competencies are:
· Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field (master's preferred) List experience requirements
· 3–5 years’ experience in employee relations, preferably in manufacturing
· Knowledge of employment law and regulatory practices
· Experience with Workers’ Compensation, FMLA, and ADA (preferred)
· Advanced Excel skills: Power BI experience preferred
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to influence at all levels
· Lean or Six-Sigma experience, training or formal certification (preferred)
