Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice in Virginia Beach. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality preventative dental care while ensuring patient comfort and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive dental prophylaxis, including cleaning, scaling, and root planing
- Conduct thorough oral examinations and document patient conditions
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed
- Apply preventative materials including fluoride and sealants
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene techniques and preventative care
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
- Sterilize instruments and equipment according to OSHA standards
- Assist dentist during procedures as needed
- Perform preliminary screenings and refer findings to dentist
- Maintain operatory cleanliness and readiness between patients
Required Qualifications
- Current Virginia Dental Hygienist license
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program
- Current CPR certification
- Minimum of 2 years clinical experience preferred
- Proficiency in dental software systems
- Knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA regulations
- Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail

Schedule
Full-time position with regular business hours Monday through Friday. Occasional Saturday availability may be required.
