Major Purpose:

The Branch Manager will direct and supervise the staff and day-to-day operations in the assigned branch location, ensuring delivery of quality member service and achievement of branch goals. The Branch Manager must be able to function in the varied jobs and positions assigned to that branch.  The Branch Manager must be able to manage all duties and responsibilities assigned to that branch. 

Primary Responsibilities:

·         Opened and close branch in accordance with established hours of business

·         Schedule staff so that the office is properly staffed at all times

·         Write, counsel, and provide all types of loan services in accordance with Vicinity Credit Union’s policy

·         Be proficient as a teller and PFR

·         Care for the physical maintenance of the office including all furniture, fixtures, and equipment

·         Identify staff training needs and properly train the staff in all phases of established duties and Vicinity Credit Union policies

·         Know and understand all Vicinity Credit Union policies, services, and State and Federal regulations covering financial institutions.

·         Maintains and develops positive relationships with existing and prospective clients, demonstrating excellent member service and setting an example for other staff

·         Participates in community activities to promote the credit union and to build goodwill

·         See that all branch funds are properly safeguarded, accounted for and provide daily complete, accurate, timely reports and summaries of daily business transactions to the central office

·         Keep an open line of communication with the Chief Retail Operations Officer and/or President, and/or his designee to keep them informed of the branch status at all times

·         Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive, providing recommendations for promotion and salary adjustment as appropriate

·         Other duties as assigned by supervisor or management

 

Position Requirements

Education and Experience:

·      High School diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelors degree preferred.

·      Teller experience, cashiering or prior cash handling experience

·      Previous supervision experience (minimum 2 years)

·      Credit Union work experience (minimum 3 years)

·      Loan counseling experience – all phases

·      Office operations experience

 

 

Knowledge/Skill/Abilities:

·      Excellent math skills and basic accounting knowledge

·      Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·      Be able to work well with others

·      Trustworthy and ability to work with integrity

·      Exhibit competency in using current technology, such as computer, calculator, etc. necessary to complete required and miscellaneous responsibilities

·      Excellent sales, customer service, and interpersonal skills.

·      Knowledge of credit union practice and regulations

·      Detail oriented and high degree of accuracy

·      Ability to problem solve and take initiative

·      Be reliable

·      Excellent leadership and management skills

·      Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

·      Ability to prioritize tasks, delegating when appropriate

·      Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Nature of the work requires prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing at a desk working in front of a computer and operation standard office equipment. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

The majority of the work performed will be in an office environment.
