Longenecker & Associates (L&A) seeks a Program Manager II to contribute to our mission supporting our work at NNSA’s Office of Material Management and Minimization in Oslo, Norway.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

This position will provide essential program management and nuclear security expertise to streamline, coordinate, and ultimately deliver a challenging, first-of-its-kind project. This position directly supports U.S. national security objectives while contributing to global nuclear nonproliferation efforts. Candidates must be prepared for extended international assignment and cross-cultural collaboration. 

 Key Responsibilities

  • Provide senior-level program management support to enhance project delivery, rigor, and speed.
  • Collaborate with M3, partner technical teams, and Norwegian government officials to identify and resolve project bottlenecks.
  • Implement best practices in program management to minimize project delays.
  • Provide regular progress reports to M3 leadership.
  • Due to the sensitive nature of the project, further details will be provided only to well-qualified candidates.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, international relations, political science, or related field; advanced degree preferred,

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Program Management: Minimum 10+ years of experience managing complex technical projects, preferably in government or defense sectors,
  • Security Clearance: Must hold a U.S. security clearance (TS/SCI),
  • Nuclear/Technical Background: Experience with nuclear security, nonproliferation, or related technical fields,
  • International Experience: Demonstrated success working in international environments and cross-cultural collaboration,
  • Ability to work in a diverse work environment,
  • Satisfactory results of a pre-employment screening, which includes a background check and drug screening,
  • Ability to fulfill L&A Core Values,

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • PMP or equivalent program management certification is strongly preferred, 
  • Past experience with Department of Energy (DOE) projects,
  • Past experience with nuclear materials management, nuclear security, and/or nuclear safeguards related-projects,
  • Previous international work experience,
  • Experience with government-to-government partnerships and international agreements,

 

LOCATION

  • Extensive international travel and extended assignment in Norway required (position will be based in Oslo),  
  • Contract Type – Time limited support services contractor,
  • Duration of the Contract – Project dependent (estimated 12-36 months),
