Today, We Are Looking For

The Senior Coordinator, Marketing & Communications is responsible for supporting the execution of marketing and communications strategies that advance the Greater Houston Partnership’s Talent and Workforce Development initiatives - One Houston Together and UpSkill Houston. This role plays a key part in producing mission-aligned campaigns, storytelling content, collateral, and event promotion materials that help activate the business community around talent and economic opportunity. Working collaboratively across departments, the Senior Coordinator ensures these critical initiatives are effectively communicated to target audiences and aligned with the Partnership’s broader messaging and brand.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities 

The following responsibilities are essential to job performance:

  • Support execution of integrated marketing campaigns for One Houston Together and UpSkill Houston.
  • Assist in developing content for email, web, collateral, and publications.
  • Help identify and shape stories of impact, business engagement, and program success for use across Partnership channels.
  • Coordinate the development and deployment of email marketing efforts in support of events, programming, publications and initiative updates, working in collaboration with Marcom team members.
  • Collaborate with the Membership Marketing Manager to ensure member engagement and acquisition efforts align with and help advance the Partnership’s talent initiatives.
  • Manage project calendars and timelines, ensuring timely routing and approval of deliverables in collaboration with MarCom project manager.
  • Execute promotion of initiative-aligned events and programs.
  • Track marketing performance and assist in compiling metrics and insights to support campaign reporting and storytelling.
  • Collaborate with the broader MarCom team to support cross-functional messaging integration.
  • Maintain consistency in branding and tone across all initiative communications.
  • Support additional marketing or administrative tasks as assigned.

  • Strong working knowledge of email marketing trends and best practices. 
  • Excellent written communications skills required; composition, writing, grammar, and spelling. 
  • Experience in project management; ability to work in a high-volume communications environment with tight deadlines and fast turnarounds. 
  • Proficiency with Marketing Cloud or similar email marketing platforms.
  • Familiarity with working with Salesforce or similar customer relations management systems.
  • Possess a proven track record that demonstrates public relations and business-to-business marketing skills.
  • Executes with excellence by consistently delivering on promises to the highest standard.
  • Ability to exercise mature judgement and tact. 
  • Professional appearance. 
  • Collaborative both internally and externally; works with others to achieve common goals. 
  • Advance level of proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Nimble/flexible to work some overtime and/or work on additional projects as necessary.   

Education Requirements  

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field. 

Required Experience 

2–4 years of experience in marketing, communications, or related fields; experience supporting mission-aligned or purpose-driven initiatives (e.g. workforce, nonprofit, education) preferred. 

Physical Requirements

  • Good vision and hearing acuity (with adaptive aids if necessary).
  • Manual dexterity and skillful use of computer keyboard.
  • Physical exertion includes bending, pushing, standing, and walking.  Must be able to move or lift approximately 25 pounds on occasion. 

Mental and Aptitude Requirements

  • Job requires the ability to hear, see, and talk; analytical, conceptual, problem-solving, planning, and decision-making skills.
