Today, We Are Looking For

The Marketing Manager is responsible for contributing to and executing strategic marketing and communications efforts that drive member retention, acquisition, and engagement through targeted campaigns and promotion. This role leads marketing activities that promote and support the Greater Houston Partnership’s member lifecycle, including onboarding, value proposition communications, and core member programs. The manager will collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure that marketing activities align with organizational goals, elevate the member experience, and reinforce the Partnership’s value to members.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities 

The following responsibilities are essential to job performance:

  • Participate in the development and lead the execution of integrated marketing and communications campaigns that drive member engagement, retention, and acquisition.
  • Create tailored messaging and collateral for member lifecycle campaigns and programming, including email, print and web content that supports participation and strengthens awareness.
  • Manage marketing strategies for member-engagement programs and other onboarding or engagement efforts.
  • Partner with the Membership teams to ensure alignment between marketing efforts and member growth strategies.
  • Oversee email marketing execution related to member campaigns in coordination, including managing timelines, segmentation, and performance tracking.
  • Support the production of personalized or tiered communications that reinforce the value of membership and encourage deeper involvement.
  • Coordinate with the content media team to implement organic and paid campaigns that increase visibility of member programs and benefits.
  • Assist in the development of video and multimedia content that supports member storytelling and program promotion.
  • Utilize business data and CRM systems to target and tailor campaigns that support strategic goals for member engagement and growth.
  • Measure, analyze, and optimize marketing initiatives to improve performance and member satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with the Digital, Content, and Creative teams to create compelling assets that support membership campaigns. 
  • Track success metrics for all campaigns.
  • Guide all deliverables through the organization’s routing and review process.
  • Effectively interface with partners across the organization. 
  • Work with confidential matters.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong working knowledge of email marketing trends and best practices. 
  • Excellent written communications skills required; composition, writing, grammar, and spelling.
  • Experience in project management; ability to work in a high-volume communications environment with tight deadlines and fast turnarounds.
  • Proficiency with Marketing Cloud or similar email marketing platform
  • Familiarity with working with Salesforce or similar customer relations management systems, 
  • Possess a proven track record that demonstrates public relations and business-to-business marketing skills.
  • Possess a working knowledge of event marketing trends and best practices. 
  • Excellent verbal, written, analytical, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Preference for working with internal and external contacts at all levels.
  • Ability to prioritize simultaneous assignments.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.

Education Requirements  

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field. 

Required Experience 

3+ years of experience in marketing, communications, or engagement strategy; membership-based or nonprofit organization experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Good vision and hearing acuity (with adaptive aids if necessary).
  • Manual dexterity and skillful use of computer keyboard.
  • Physical exertion includes bending, pushing, standing, and walking.  Must be able to move or lift approximately 25 pounds on occasion. 

Mental and Aptitude Requirements

  • Job requires the ability to hear, see, and talk; analytical, conceptual, problem-solving, planning, and decision-making skills.
