The Area Agency on Aging of Tarrant County (AAA) is seeking a strategic, data-savvy, and forward-thinking leader to serve as our next Deputy Director of Operations – Data Operations. This is a high-impact leadership role for someone passionate about using data, technology, and innovation to improve the lives of older adults and caregivers. You will serve as a thought-leader and innovation champion, working in close partnership with the AAA Executive Director to shape the strategic direction of AAA. From advancing data systems to piloting cutting-edge service models, you’ll help transform how we deliver services for older adults across Tarrant County.

 

Position Summary: The AAA Deputy Director – Data Operations is responsible for planning, coordination, tracking, program support and training functions for AAA services consistent with the regulations of the Older Americans Act and other programs as called upon.  This position is highly visible among internal and external stakeholders and serves on the AAA and United Way of Tarrant County Leadership Teams.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities: The AAA Deputy Director – Data Operations manages 3-7 employees involved in AAA operations.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  •      Lead AAA’s data strategy and reporting, with a focus on Power BI dashboards, to strengthen data integrity, analytics, performance measurement, and data-driven decision-making.
  •      Oversee all data collection and management processes to ensure compliance with HHSC reporting requirements and high standards for data quality and accuracy.
  •      Oversee client tracking systems (Wellsky, etc.) and serve as the primary liaison for related software tools and technical support.
  •      Support the annual fiscal review of subcontractors and conduct desk reviews of audits, ensuring compliance and accountability.
  •      Oversee client tracking systems, manage user access and training, and serve as the primary liaison for troubleshooting and system enhancements.
  •      Assist in the program innovation, design, and implementation. 
  •      Assist in the development of the AAA annual strategic plan and Area Plan.
  •      Champion the use of data and technology to drive program innovation, continuous improvement, and better outcomes for older adults
  •      Champion innovation in program design and implementation, identifying data-informed approaches to improve service delivery for older adults.
  •      Serve as the primary support and backup for the Executive Director.

 

Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative, but not exhaustive, of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.

  •      Strong strategic thinker, innovative mindset, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  •      Proficiency in Power BI and a demonstrated ability to turn data into compelling insights and visualizations or possess sufficient aptitude to acquire these skills.
  •      Experience in industries serving older adults, strongly preferred. Experience in human services preferred. 
  •      Track record of success leading cross-functional projects or initiatives, particularly within human services or public sector environments.
  •      Experience with government grant reporting, compliance, and operational planning strongly preferred.
  •      Excellent communicator who is confident presenting to internal and external stakeholders.
  •      Ability to take initiative and handle flexibility in carrying out assignments.
  •      Ability to adhere to schedules, meet deadlines, work well under pressure, be adaptable to project changes and manage multiple projects and subcommittees.

 

Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports. Ability to respond to stakeholder inquiries, as needed. Ability to effectively present information to executive leadership, elected officials, and public groups.

 

Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.  Ability to apply basic concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

 

Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problem, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: (Strongly preferred, but not required) Project Management Certification, Microsoft Power BI Certification, Grant Management Certification, process improvement related certification, Six Sigma Process Certification, Case Management Certification, Community Health Worker Certification, or human service-related licensure/certification.

 

Educational/Experience Requirements: Minimum requirement of a bachelor’s degree in business, human services, data science, or related fields is required. Graduate degree is preferred. 5 years of related professional experience required with at least 3 years of supervising, managing, and evaluating reporting staff.

 

Additional requirements related to the job:

  •       Texas driver’s license, proper vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation.
  •       Reliable Internet access to support remote work.

  •       Excellent leadership, team building, interpersonal and time management skills.
  •       A high energy, results-oriented leader and must be a self-starter with little supervision required.

 

Work Environment: Although a hybrid work arrangement is occasionally permitted for this position, the individual must reside primarily in North Texas with the ability to work from the office or other required location on a daily basis if needed.   Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
