Job Summary:

The Cloud Administrator is responsible for the administration, optimization, and security of our Microsoft 365 environment, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Intune, Entra ID, Defender XDR, Purview, Power Platform, and Azure. The Cloud Administrator will maintain the cloud-based infrastructure, compliance and data protection in healthcare settings, and collaborate effectively across distributed cross-functional teams. This is a remote position with occasional on-call responsibilities and a focus on maintaining high availability and performance of cloud services critical to patient care and operations. This role will travel a few times per year to collect/install new systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Desktop Support Analyst on configuring and maintaining mobile device management (MDM) systems (Microsoft Intune) to assure that users with Windows OS, macOS, Apple iOS, and Android are consistently able to access applications and data securely including keeping the device operating systems patched and applications updated.
  • Work with the IAM Analyst on configuring and maintaining identity and access management (IAM) systems (Microsoft Azure/Entra ID) to assure user accounts, security permissions, and access policies are consistently up to date.
  • Configure and maintain the email systems (Microsoft Exchange) to ensure that emails are secure and consistently flowing.
  • Configure and maintain phone systems to ensure that voice services (Microsoft Teams and Intermedia) are secure and consistently available.
  • Configure and maintain the collaboration and communications systems (Microsoft Teams) to ensure that chat, video conferencing, and file sharing are secure and consistently available.
  • Configure and maintain the document collaboration systems (Microsoft SharePoint) to ensure that the sites and folder structures are secure, accurate, and readily available to the users.
  • Configure and maintain the data governance, risk, and compliance systems (Microsoft Purview) to assure that all policies are accurate and working per HIPAA and PCI compliance standards.
  • Configure and maintain the Extended Detection and Response (EDR) systems (Microsoft Defender XDR) to ensure that all policies are accurate and working per the NIST and CIS standards.
  • Configure and maintain the automation and reporting systems (Microsoft Power Platform) are secure and readily available to the users. 
  • Configure and maintain some Microsoft Azure workloads while working with third party expertise for special projects.
  • Maintain policies and procedures documentation for all systems that are assigned as well as documentation of system configurations and architecture.
  • Utilize project management systems (Microsoft ADO and Planner) to manage projects and regular tasks.
  • Manage and maintain data backup services (Veeam) for documents and email. 
  • Provide limited technical support services to the users while documenting the support provided in the case management system (Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM). 
  • Occasionally travel to remote offices to either deploy or decommission computers and computer accessories.

Job Requirements (Skills, Education, Proficiency):

  • Must have 6 or more years of related experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT field or 10 years of relevant work experience required.
  • Must be proficient in deploying, managing, and maintaining the core Microsoft 365 technology stack: Exchange Online, Intune, Defender for Identity, Defender XDR, Sentinel, Entra ID, Purview, Power Platform, SharePoint, Teams.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure workloads and resources.

Job Preferences (not required):

  • Experience with below is a plus but not required:
  • Adobe Acrobat Enterprise, Veeam backup technologies, Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM.
  • Experience as an IT professional with a healthcare organization.
  • Certifications specific to the IT industry are desired:
  • Microsoft certifications specific to the listed Job Requirements.
  • Cybersecurity certifications.
  • HIPAA security certifications.

Physical Requirements:

  • Occasional travel to remote offices.
  • Ability to lift to 50 pounds.
  • Remote work environment, requiring reliable internet, telephone service, and private work area at home.
  • Ability to join video calls and meetings.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
