Job Summary 

The Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) is responsible for leading and unifying the Social Current sales (Network Engagement & Growth) and marketing functions under a single strategic vision. Reporting directly to the CEO, the CRO will oversee new revenue development, customer acquisition strategies, and offer innovation efforts in partnership with the Chief Operating Officer, while creating internal alignment across departments. This role is critical in positioning Social Current for sustainable growth amidst an evolving nonprofit landscape.

Job Requirements

Required:
• 10+ years in senior sales/revenue roles, ideally with both nonprofit and private sector exposure
• Proven track record of leading revenue teams and scaling $10M+ organizations
• Strong understanding of sales automation tools, CRM systems (Salesforce), and outreach pipelines
• Experience managing both sales and marketing departments
• Clear, concise communicator, metrics-driven, and a strong collaborator
• Strong leadership presence with the ability to coach both senior directors and early-career team members
Preferred:
• Experience in human services, social impact, or nonprofit sectors
• Prior work in an org undergoing structural or cultural transformation
• Experience launching new service/product lines (especially bundles or professional service offerings)

Education Requirements

Undergraduate degree required; advanced degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

Travel Requirements

Ability to travel up to 50%. Attend in-person staff meetings/events a minimum of one time annually.

Job Description

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Duties
Strategic Revenue Leadership
• Own the full revenue lifecycle: strategy → sales execution → offer innovation → renewal → cross sell
• Oversee performance of both the sales (network engagement & growth) and marketing teams
• Define and monitor KPIs across revenue operations and growth funnels
Sales Oversight
• Build and manage a scalable, repeatable sales process focused on pipeline growth and conversion
• Coach, mentor, and develop sales leaders and representatives
• Work with the IT team to identify and implement outbound strategies using tools such as data enrichment (ZoomInfo), LinkedIn automation, and outreach platforms
• Oversee AI implementation from call recording software to automation of cross sell data enablement
Marketing Alignment
• Partner with the Sr. Director of Marketing, Communication & PR to optimize campaigns for pipeline and revenue impact
• Ensure alignment between campaign strategies and organizational brand vision
• Track KPIs on marketing spend and optimize based on established metrics that matter
Offer Innovation & Execution
• Together with the COO, lead the cross-departmental development of new service offerings
• Ensure cohesive rollout of new products by bridging marketing, sales, and content expert teams
• Work closely with internal stakeholders to drive adoption and feedback loops

Leadership & Team Development
• Inspire high performance and clear accountability across functions
• Manage cross-functional relationships with finance, IT, and operations
• Bring a “strategy-first, hustle-second” mindset that’s grounded in measurable impact
• Support Board Governance: Provide staff support to the Board of Directors, ensuring adherence to effective governance practices and alignment with organizational priorities.
• Integrate EDI Efforts: Partner with the CEO and executive team to embed equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) into all business strategies and HR functions.
Other duties or special projects are assigned that are needed to help drive our Vision, fulfill our Mission, and abide by our Organization's Values.

Responsibilities
Serve as a Brand Ambassador: Actively represent and promote Social Current's mission, vision, values, and offerings in all professional interactions, ensuring alignment with organizational principles in daily responsibilities and engagement with stakeholders.
Champion the Social Current Business Model: Provide strategic leadership by connecting direct reports to all facets of the Social Current Business Model, delivering guidance, support, and resources to effectively embed the model's revenue sources and initiatives within team operations and projects.
Commitment and Understanding: Demonstrate an understanding and commitment to Social Current’s equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) values, and be able to articulate their personal commitment to EDI as it relates to their role at Social Current and beyond.

Pay Range
$135,000.00   Annually to $165,000.00   Annually
