Senior Backend Engineer
5+ Months W2 Contract
San Jose, CA (Hybrid)

Here’s how you’ll make an impact on the team:

• Develop and maintain backend services using Java (Spring Boot) and Ruby
• Design and optimize GraphQL and RESTful APIs for internal and external consumption
• Collaborate with product managers, technical leads, and other engineers to understand  business and customer objectives
• Participate in technical discussions, root cause analysis, and performance tuning
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, Git, and Docker
• Maintain and enhance legacy Ruby codebases while migrating them to modern Java services
• Ensure application reliability through monitoring tools like New Relic, Splunk, or Grafana
• Deploy and manage services on AWS, leveraging Lambda, RDS, and API Gateway

Here’s what you’ll need to be successful in this role:

• Bachelor Degree in Engineering or equivalent
• 3+ years of backend development experience
• Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and Ruby
• Experience with GraphQL schema design and query optimization 4
• Solid understanding of SQL (e.g., Postgres) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB)
• Familiarity with APM tools and monitoring frameworks
• Experience with AWS cloud services and deployment strategies
• Familiarity with version control systems (Git), Agile methodologies, and DevOps practices
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

Pay Range: 

$82.00 - $91.55/hour
