POSITION DESCRIPTION
The main duties include, but are not limited to:
· Apply technical experience in field of specialization or broad-based experience in multiple technical fields, and use other technical resources within the company, to resolve complex problems,
· Incorporate advanced technical practices and a variety of complex features such as complicated technical requirements, application of new or special materials or processes and difficult coordination or oversight requirements into problem solving and program planning,
· Provide leadership in determining solutions to complex problems and be recognized as having expertise in a functional area(s) of technical expertise,
· Develop solutions to complex technical problems in fields of expertise,
· Keep informed on technical needs within the company and technical trends in area of expertise in the external world,
· Be aware of capabilities of the work group and needs of its customers. Identify technical programs which can be carried out with little guidance and take the initiative to accomplish them,
· Lead task teams for developing solutions to more complex problems. Prepare plans including schedules, budgets and personnel requirements for solving major technical tasks identified by management,
· Develop schedules, monitor progress, monitor expenditures of budget and review quality of work performed. Include research, development, testing, quality assurance requirements,
· Communicate the results and objectives verbally and in manuscript form to customers, colleagues, managers and oversight groups,
· Prepare reports for external publication.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
· Ph.D. degree and about 10 years' experience,
· A MS degree and 12 years' experience,
· A BS degree and approximately 15 years' experience.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· Personnel shall have technical knowledge of Commissioning/Startup Testing, including experience working in the following technical areas/labor categories: Conduct of Startup Testing, Design reviews Procedure development, Test Execution,
· Demonstrated previous experience with the use and implementation of Manual 5E, Startup Test Program, and related directives and standards, or an equivalent Commissioning/Startup program,
· Demonstrated previous experience in developing, reviewing, approval and presenting Technical Work Documents/Commissioning Test Procedures,
· Demonstrated personal accountability for facility/project schedules, deadlines, budgets, and the safe performance of work,
· Demonstrated a minimum of 1 year or more of recent testing experience through support of the Department of Energy (DOE) or the commercial nuclear industry,
· Ability to work in a diverse work environment,
· Satisfactory results of a pre-employment screening, which includes a background check and drug screening in accordance with Federal requirements (details below),
· Ability to fulfill and promote L&A core values.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Previous experience on DOE sites and programs,
· Candidates who have possessed an active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two (2) years are preferred.
