Position: QUALITY ASSURANCE AUDITOR
Location: Cincinnati, OH (CVG)
SUMMARY
The Quality Assurance Auditor is responsible for planning, conducting, and reporting on internal and external audits to ensure compliance with L2 Aviation’s Quality Management System (QMS), regulatory requirements, and industry standards. This role safeguards the organization’s quality performance by evaluating systems, facilities, training effectiveness, vendors, and suppliers to confirm compliance and drive continuous improvement.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Plan, schedule, and perform internal audits of quality systems, production processes, facilities, documentation, and training effectiveness.
- Conduct external audits of vendors and suppliers, including onsite assessments and evaluations of self-audit submissions.
- Prepare detailed audit reports identifying findings, non-conformances, and areas for improvement.
- Monitor corrective and preventive action plans for timely resolution and verify the effectiveness of implemented actions.
- Support compliance with applicable FAA, EASA, AS9100/ISO, and customer requirements.
- Collaborate with department leaders to address systemic issues and promote quality-driven practices.
- Maintain and update audit records to ensure readiness for regulatory and customer audits.
- Provide guidance and support during third-party and regulatory inspections.
- Recommend improvements to the QMS, supplier quality processes, and training programs.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering, Aviation Technology, or related field.
- 3+ years of quality auditing experience in aerospace, aviation manufacturing, or MRO environments.
- ASQ Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or equivalent certification.
- Strong knowledge of FAA and EASA regulations, AS9100, ISO 9001, and industry quality standards.
- Familiarity with production and maintenance practices in avionics and aviation product manufacturing desired.
- Knowledge of risk-based thinking and process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
- Experience auditing both internal processes and external suppliers.
- Proficiency in report writing and root-cause analysis techniques.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail with a structured approach to auditing.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with internal teams and external vendors.
- Ability to handle sensitive compliance findings with professionalism.
- Ability to travel simi-frequently to perform audits.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and organizational excellence.
- Must submit to and pass pre-employment drug testing.
- Must be able to pass a 10-year TSA/CVG background check to obtain and maintain TSA/CVG badging.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Office-based with frequent collaboration across various departments.
Periodic travel to suppliers, and customer facilities for certification reviews and audits.
