JOB SUMMARY

BKV is looking for a results-driven Completion Manager with deep operational and technical skills to represent BKV and provide day-to-day support of our upstream (TX & PA) and carbon capture (dCV) organization. This role ensures the safe, efficient, and compliant execution of new well, restim, and carbon capture operations. The manager will also be responsible for the technical design of the completion for new well, restim and carbon capture. This position works cross-functionally with engineering, geology, production, EHS, regulatory, and commercial teams to drive operational excellence and regulatory compliance. 

This role sets objectives and goals and manages a team to achieve organizational results. Ensures team members and stakeholders understand and follow policies, practices and procedures. Problems faced may be difficult, but generally are not complex. Demonstrates integrity, accountability, and transparency; upholds BKV standards, values and culture.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Typical job responsibilities of the Manager Completions include:

  • Lead and manage a team of completion engineers (technical & execution) and field superintendents to deliver on upstream and dCV business objectives.
  • Lead the safe and efficient execution of completion, workover and carbon capture operations.
  • Identify and implement strategic initiatives to optimize production, reduce costs/capital, and improve efficiency.
  • Always demonstrate and promote safe and ethical behavior.
  • Understand and apply all company policies and ensure others comply with these policies.
  • Foster a culture of safety, integrity, and continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and train less experienced employees.
  • Review and approve invoices in the area of responsibility.
  • Manage vendors supporting completion activities.
  • Develop and manage operating budgets and volume forecasts for the completion capital program.
  • Track cost and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and cost effectiveness.
  • Lead and support vendor selection process for new well and restim programs.
  • Drive technical improvement and understanding of restim and new well frac designs.  Provides technical & strategic direction for the new well, restim and dCV programs.
  • Coordinates scheduling of new well and restim programs.
  • Review, define and implement operational policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Provide safety leadership and presence in the field during critical operations.
  • Establish key performance indicators for direct reports.
  • Conduct budget reviews to minimize cost and maximize margins
  • Conduct analysis and prepare reports on key performance metrics; present and explain findings to senior management.
  • Provide technical and operational guidance for company-wide projects.
  • Manage office-related documentation, including project files and employee documents.
  • Perform other duties as required.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • 8+ years of drilling and/or completion engineering experience in oil and gas.
  • People leadership and supervisory experience at any level preferred.
  • Degree in Petroleum, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or similar engineering equivalent required.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING CONDITIONS

  • This position is located at BKV’s Blue Mound (76106), Texas office.
  • Some travel (up to 20%) may be required.
  • A hybrid of remote, indoor, and outdoor field working environments, including field operations.
  • Work performed indoors requires sitting for extended periods of time at a desk.
  • Must have the ability to bend over and reach above head, lift under 15 pounds, view a computer screen for extended periods of time, type on a keyboard and perform repetitive motions, and operate standard office equipment.
  • Field work requires the use of personal protective equipment and potential exposure to noise and safety hazards.
