JOB SUMMARY
This position is a senior‐level analyst role providing support for the corporate reserves process. Key responsibilities include ensuring integrity, accuracy, and consistency of engineering and reserves data through data gathering, validation, and documentation. These activities include but are not limited to database management, well forecasting, reserves management, building and maintaining dashboards, running sensitivities on new venture opportunities, and working with interdisciplinary teams
RESPONSIBILITIES
Typical job responsibilities of the Sr. Engineering Analyst include:
- Support the Corporate Reserves team in preparing reserves reports, including SEC filings, SMOG, EIA reporting, and internal business planning scenarios
 - Collect, validate, and maintain well‐level and asset‐level data from internal systems such as ARIES, P2, WellView, Spotfire, and other databases
 - Perform quality assurance and reconciliation of historical production, capital, and performance data as it relates to reserve reporting.
 - Collaborate with asset development, reservoir engineering, production, and geoscience teams to ensure data accuracy and consistency
 - Troubleshoot data discrepancies and identify opportunities for data quality and process improvements in reserves workflows
 - Complete quarterly price changes and roll forwards of the year end reserves
 - Perform decline curve analysis, maintain and update ARIES databases, generate economic cash flow reports, and manage one‐lines and queries in support of quarterly reserves cycles and special projects
 - Maintain and enter economic assumptions and master table information in the corporate ARIES database
 - Assist engineers by gathering data, performing calculations, and supporting technical reports, evaluations, and presentations
 - Build dashboards for data visualizations and automation with tools like Spotfire and/or Power BI
 - Support the Corporate Development team with acquisition evaluations, including data room reviews, forecasting, sensitivities, and database creation for ARIES or ComboCurve
 - Partner with engineering and finance teams to compile annual documentation for bank and lender presentations
 - Provide supporting data to internal and external auditors as required
 - Assist in researching and tracking SEC comment letters and regulatory correspondence
 - Perform other duties as required.
 
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Strong knowledge of the oil & gas industry, including E&P metrics, reserves booking, and valuation methodologies
 - Expert user of ARIES (front and back end), with proficiency in SQL, MS Access,
 - Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with Spotfire, Power BI SharePoint, WellView, IHS, and Enverus
 - Strong data management and analytics capabilities, including extracting and manipulating large data sets from public and internal sources, detail oriented
 - Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across cross‐functional, multicultural teams
 - Self‐starter, critical thinker, reliable, and proactive — thrives with autonomy and minimal supervision in fast‐paced, dynamic environments
 
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Math, Engineering, or a related field preferred
 - Minimum of 5 years of experience as an engineering analyst or technician
 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING CONDITIONS
- This position is located at BKV’s headquarters in Denver, Colorado.
 - Indoor working environment that requires the ability to perform repetitive motions and operate standard office equipment.
 - May occasionally be exposed to distracting noise while sharing office space with others.
 - Some travel may be required.
 
SALARY RANGE
- $98,000 to $162,000
