Summary:
PVEDI is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented HR Generalist to support the Human Resource function in our Houston office. This role plays a key part in advancing PVEDI's people-centered culture by supporting a range of HR functions that promote collaboration, growth, and operational excellence. This position directly supports the Architecture team and serves as the first point of contact for HR matters. With a team of approximately 40+ staff, this is an exciting opportunity for an HR professional who is ready to multi-task, expand their knowledge base, and grow into a management role.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field or equivalent work experience.
- 3 - 5 years of progressive HR experience, ideally in the architecture, engineering, or construction industry.
- Working knowledge of HR operations, talent acquisition, recruitment & staffing, benefits, and immigration.
- Proficiency with professional employment organizations (PEO), performance management tools, and applicant tracking systems (ATS).
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to manage sensitive information professionally and confidentially.
- Organized, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities in an on-site work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, orientation, and offboarding.
- Serve as the first point of contact for HR policies, benefits, and employee relations, fostering a supportive and respectful workplace.
- Administer benefits, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws.
- Support PVEDI's performance management system, coordinate check-ins, and assist with training and professional development initiatives.
- Assist with HR initiatives such as internships, job shadow programs, career fair planning, office events, and service awards that strengthen collaboration and belonging.
- Manage office operations including verifying weekly timesheets, vacation accruals, payroll coordination, licensure compliance, and safety.
