JOB SUMMARY 
 
The Electronic Security Technician II is responsible for monitoring, installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electronic security systems such as access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, and related hardware/software. This role ensures systems operate effectively and comply with security standards, providing technical support and performing routine inspections. Collaborates closely with the Corporate Security and IT teams to integrate and support security technologies. 

This role requires knowledge of job procedures and tools. Works under moderate supervision. Communicates information that typically requires explanation or interpretationProblems faced are generally routine and may sometimes require interpretation or deviation from standard procedures. Demonstrates integrity, accountability and transparency; upholds BKV standards, values and culture. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

Typical job responsibilities of the Electronic Security Technician II include: 

  • Responsible for the direct operations of all BKV access control systems, and surveillance systems within the Genetec system.  

  • Coordinates and tracks Corporate Security projects to ensure timelines, budgets, and objectives are met, supporting contractors and internal teams throughout delivery. 

  • Manage all access control and surveillance across the BKV portfolio 

  • Conduct trouble shooting on any access control issues.  

  • Collaborate with leaders on access control needs. 

  • Mitigate access control vulnerabilities. 

  • Collaborate with IT on digital security needs. 

  • Perform other duties as required. 

 

REQUIRED SKILLS  

  • Proven experience in access control / video surveillance. 

  • Proven track in planning and leading projects to support implementation or improvement of electronic security. 

  • Extensive knowledge and previous work utilizing electronic surveillance devices.  

  • Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office and job-related applications including PowerPoint, Smartsheet, and Genetec. Understands how to use digital tools to make informed decisions.  

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE 

  • High school diploma or GED required; equivalent combination of education and relevant hands-on experience may be considered.  

  • Certificate or associate degree in relevant fields such as electrical engineering technology, electronics, or information technology preferred. 

  • Genetec certification preferred. 

  • Typically requires a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. 
     

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING CONDITIONS 

  • This position is located in the Barnett Field / Fort Worth Basin and is based out of the BKV Fort Worth, Texas office. 

Physical Demands: 

  • Able to lift and carry equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds. 

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and kneeling required during installation and maintenance tasks. 

  • Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, or elevated platforms to install or service devices. 

  • Manual dexterity for handling small components, wiring, and tools. 

  • Visual acuity to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and monitor system displays. 

  • Occasional work in confined spaces or outdoor environments, sometimes in varying weather conditions. 

Work Environment: 

  • Primarily field-based with time spent at customer sites, corporate facilities, and secure areas. 

  • Exposure to varying noise levels, electrical components, and construction environments. 

  • May require travel between locations and occasional overnight stays depending on project needs. 

  • On-call availability for emergency service or after-hours support may be required. 

  • Must adhere to safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
