Hybrid - One year contract
Mainframe Application Tester – Banking Systems
We are seeking a Mainframe Application Tester to support a large, complex banking environment with multiple legacy mainframe platforms. This role is responsible for validating mission-critical applications that support core banking, payments, lending, and regulatory processing.
Responsibilities

Design, execute, and document functional, regression, and end-to-end test cases for mainframe applications

Test batch and online transactions across COBOL, CICS, DB2, and JCL-based systems

Validate data integrity, file processing, and downstream system impacts

Partner with developers, business analysts, and operations teams to triage defects and ensure timely resolution

Support UAT cycles, release validation, and production defect analysis in a regulated banking environment
Required Skills
-
Hands-on testing experience in large-scale mainframe environments
-
Strong knowledge of COBOL applications, CICS, DB2, VSAM, and batch processing
-
Experience testing high-volume financial transactions and legacy banking systems

Familiarity with SDLC, change management, and audit-controlled environments
Preferred

Banking or financial services domain experience

Exposure to tools such as File-Aid, Abend-Aid, SPUFI, or equivalent

Experience supporting modernization or mainframe-to-distributed integration initiatives
