Wolfe Research, LLC is launching a new Alternative Asset Management business.  Wolfe Alternative Asset Management (WAM) is a strategic expansion of the Wolfe brand into the alternative investment space.

It is a membership-based platform offering a menu of curated, institutional-grade investment opportunities across venture capital, private equity, private secondaries, and a broad range of investment funds—including venture, private equity, hedge, and real estate funds—leveraging Wolfe Research’s trusted brand, reputation, and extensive network.

Our mission is to deliver unparalleled access to alternative investments, supported by Wolfe’s research expertise and industry relationships, to drive superior, differentiated returns for institutional investors, family offices, and high-net-worth individuals.

Ideal individual will have greater than 8+ years working in Fund Accounting to help launch the Alternative Asset Management Business.

Keys roles:

  • Liaise as the main point of contact for Finance with the Head of Alternative Asset group.
  • Advise and assist on each SPV with regard to GAAP/Tax/Reporting considerations. Must be able to demonstrate ability to see upstream & downstream impacts and communicate factors to weigh which may drive outcomes of how the SPV’s are created and compiled.
  • Will be responsible for the oversight of the Fund Admin relationship and all accounting ownership:
    • Will heavily interact with Fund admin counterparts and be the main point of contact with respect to capital movements / corporate actions 
    • Must be capable of reviewing all Fund Admin output and offering suggestions / identifying errors.
    • Will be responsible to ensure all Fund Admin output is correctly compiled and entered into our NetSuite GL.
    • Will be responsible for working with the greater Wolfe finance team to ensure seamless movements within monthly close – ie Corporate Accounting / Treasury / FPA / Regulatory
    • Experience with SPV roll up to an RIA is preferred. Must understand GAAP/TAX/Regulatory impact of the movements of the SPV and how they roll up in the SEC regulated world.
    • Will be responsible for all tax ownership. Ie – Fund Admin produces Financials – This role reviews – hands off to Tax Accountants – this role will then review tax accountants outputs and then be responsible for tax filings and ownership.
    • Will be responsible for conceptual thought process of future SPV set up. Ie working with Fund Admin & Tax accountants to ensure all language and processes being outlined are feasible, in-line and obtainable.

The candidate will assist Head of Alternative Asset group as they build out the platform. 

  • Will be responsible for ad-hoc reporting
  • Will be able to wear many hats as the business matures.
  • Must possess an action first mentality.
  • Managing the client interface/website for document, financial, valuation and p/l, communication updates, monitoring and tracking fund flows, managing capital calls to investors.
  • Building and keeping responsibility for the WAM financial model, KPI’s and KPI tracking. Tracking and forecasting WAM cash flows.
  • Vendor communication and negotiation.
  • Assist with investor communication.
  • Assisting with documentation on investments.
  • Assist in financial due diligence of certain investments, in particular fund investments.
  • Assisting to design and build fee structures into transactions.
  • Assist in monitoring and managing WAM business costs.

The compensation for this role is market competitive with a base salary range of $175,000-$200,000. We intend to offer the selected candidate a base salary within this range, based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to skill set, job-related experience, and location. In addition, we offer an annual discretionary incentive bonus and competitive employee benefits including: medical, dental and vision coverage; life, accident and disability insurance. Wolfe also offers paid time off packages that include vacation, sick days/leave, paid holidays and paid parental leave.
