JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to architect, implement, and support mission-critical network infrastructures across cloud and on-premises environments.
This role requires deep expertise in enterprise networking, security, wireless, and hybrid cloud connectivity, with a strong focus on reliability, scalability, and security. The ideal candidate is hands-on, customer-focused, and capable of leading complex infrastructure initiatives in production environments.
This role works to achieve operational targets under minimal supervision. The ideal candidate must have the ability to influence others by explaining facts, policies and practices, and must exhibit a high degree of trustworthiness and discretion.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Typical job responsibilities of the Senior Network Engineer include, but are not limited to:
- Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise LAN, WAN, WLAN, and data center network infrastructures
- Lead core network modernization initiatives, including switch, router, firewall, and wireless refresh projects
- Architect highly available and redundant network designs using technologies such as vPC, HSRP, VRRP, GLBP, and dynamic routing
- Design and support hub-and-spoke, SD-WAN, and hybrid cloud network architectures
- Configure and optimize routing protocols including OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, and static route redistribution
- Support MPLS, DIA, Metro-E, ExpressRoute, VPN, microwave backhaul, and wireless point-to-point solutions
- Manage and troubleshoot enterprise switching platforms including Cisco Catalyst and Nexus environments
- Design, implement, and support firewall infrastructure
- Configure and maintain site-to-site VPNs, remote access VPNs (IPSec/SSL), and MFA integrations
- Integrate network security events with SIEM platforms for monitoring and compliance
- Design and support enterprise and high-density wireless networks
- Implement secure wireless authentication
- Deliver scalable guest wireless solutions
- Design and manage cloud networking in Microsoft Azure and AWS
- Implement hub-and-spoke cloud network architectures using VNets, VPCs, transit gateways, and peering
- Support ExpressRoute, cloud VPNs, and hybrid connectivity between on-prem and cloud environments
- Monitor network health using tools such as SolarWinds, Meraki Dashboard, Aruba Central, and CloudWatch
- Perform root cause analysis and troubleshooting for complex network incidents
- Participate in on-call rotations and support production environments with minimal downtime
- Maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, and operational standards
- Work with telecom carriers and vendors to provision and manage circuits and services
- Lead network-related projects from design through implementation
- Evaluate new technologies and solutions to improve performance, security, and cost efficiency
- Drive cost optimization initiatives for network and connectivity services
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Understanding of natural gas industry standards, market trends, emerging issues and regulatory requirements
- Strong expertise in routing, switching, wireless, and data center technologies
- Hands-on experience with firewalls and VPN solutions
- Deep understanding of TCP/IP networking, OSI model, and enterprise routing protocols
- Experience supporting hybrid cloud environments (Azure and/or AWS)
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex, multi-vendor network environments
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and job-related applications. Uses insights from digital tools to improve performance

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor''s degree in information technology, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise network engineering or administration
- Cisco CCNP (required or strongly preferred)
- Cisco CCNA (required or strongly preferred)
- AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or equivalent cloud certification preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING CONDITIONS
- Role can be based in BKV''s Fort Worth, TX or Denver, CO Office.
- Remote or hybrid work may be considered based on business needs and role requirements.
Travel:
- Occasional travel may be required (up to 10-20%).
Work Environment:
- Primarily office-based with standard business hours; extended hours may be required during major incidents, system outages, or critical business events.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
- Ability to operate a computer, telephone, and other office equipment.
- Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
COMPENSATION
- Base Pay: $95,000 - $179,000 (midpoint $130,000)
- STI Target: 20%
