Adjunct Faculty – Early Childhood Education (Bilingual: English/Spanish)

Position Summary:

The Adjunct Faculty in Early Childhood Education (ECE) will teach undergraduate or graduate courses in both English and Spanish to diverse adult learners. The instructor will design and deliver instruction aligned with the program’s learning outcomes, accreditation standards, and institutional policies. The ideal candidate demonstrates expertise in early childhood pedagogy, bilingual education, and culturally responsive teaching practices.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Teach assigned ECD courses according to the approved syllabus and course objectives.
  • Deliver instruction in both English and Spanish, supporting bilingual and multilingual learners.
  • Engage students with a variety of instructional strategies, including discussions, projects, and technology-enhanced learning.
  • Assess student learning outcomes through assignments, tests, and reflective activities.
  • Provide timely feedback and keep accurate records of grades and attendance.
  • Create an inclusive classroom environment that respects cultural and linguistic diversity.
  • Communicate effectively with students and academic leadership about academic progress and concerns.
  • Participate in adjunct faculty meetings, training sessions, and professional development as required.
  • Qualifications:

Required:

  • Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a closely related field.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (reading, writing, and speaking).
  • Experience teaching or working with young children (birth to age 8).
  • Demonstrated ability to teach in higher education or adult learning settings.
  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.

Preferred:

  • Doctorate (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in Early Childhood Education, Education, or a related field.
  • Online teaching certification or experience with LMS platforms (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle).
  • Knowledge of NAEYC standards and current trends in early childhood education.
  • Experience developing bilingual or dual-language curricula.

Work Conditions:

  • Part-time, contract-based teaching position (in-person, hybrid, or online).
