POSITION DESCRIPTION
- Provide design and construction oversight of structural engineering tasks to SRNS.
- Structural engineering tasks include:
- Analysis of structural systems for both static and dynamic loads using manual computation and computer programs
- Design of concrete structures; design of steel, aluminum, stainless steel, timber and composite structures
- Foundation and anchorage design
- Structural analysis for impact, overpressure, and other accident conditions
- Preparation of CSI specifications; and review of vendor documents
- Engineering services shall be provided using SRNS processes and procedures.
- Programmatic guidance will be provided by SRNS.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
BS Degree in Civil Engineering or current registration as a Professional Engineer in either Civil or Structural Engineering
- Ph.D. degree in applicable science or engineering discipline and 5+ years’ experience.
- OR A MS with 8+ years’ experience.
- OR A BS with 10+ years’ experience or more.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Candidate must demonstrate a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in design and analysis of nuclear or industrial facilities.
- Candidate must demonstrate working knowledge of STAAD.
- Candidate must demonstrate working knowledge of National Codes and Standards such as IBC, AISC (ASD and LRFD), ACI, AWS, NFPA, and OSHA.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Ability to work in a diverse work environment.
- Satisfactory results of a pre-employment screening, which includes a background check and drug screening in accordance with Federal requirements (details below),
- Ability to fulfill and promote L&A core values.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Proficiency in using MicroStation 2D Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) software is preferred.
- Previous SRS design engineering experience preferred.
- Professional engineering license.
LOCATION
- Aiken, SC – 100% onsite position.
- 1 year base contract with additional two (1) year option periods.
- 645am – 515pm Mon – Thurs schedule
