We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented consulting intern to support our operations team in enhancing operational efficiency and knowledge management. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in project execution, research, and strategic communication within the public safety sector.  RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in improving efficiency during project execution by streamlining workflows and supporting process optimization efforts to enhance productivity, reduce operational bottlenecks, so projects are completed on time and within scope
  • Capture and document key insights from internal and external meetings to facilitate knowledge sharing, so that critical information is retained, accessible, and leveraged for informed decision-making and continuous improvement
  • Maintain and expand the Project Manager Dashboard within the Operations team and extend its application across the division to provide real-time visibility into project status, improve tracking and accountability, and enhance coordination across teams
  • Support organization of Egnyte practice team folders so they remain up to date for seamless information access, to promote efficient document management, reduce time spent searching for files so team members have the latest information at their fingertips
  • Develop and distribute surveys and questionnaires to gather stakeholder insights and collect valuable feedback as well as assist in preparing clear and accurate reports and presentations so that stakeholder needs are understood and decision-making is supported with reliable and actionable information
  • Compile up-to-date research on existing alternative response programs implemented by target MSA (Metropolitan Statistical Area) communities to identify best practices and assess program effectiveness
  • Conduct supportive research, stay informed on innovations that provide valuable insights on public safety communication technologies, trends, and best practices related to 2026 strategic focuses for alignment with industry advancements, enhance public safety initiatives, and support data-driven strategic planning
  • Collaborate with team members to develop and implement communication strategies that support project goals to enhance stakeholder engagement, promote transparency so messaging aligns with project objectives and organizational priorities
  • Provide administrative and logistical support for ongoing projects, promoting smooth execution to minimize operational disruptions, improve project coordination, and support teams in meeting deadlines and deliverables
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management

 

FINAL PRESENTATION REQUIREMENT: To wrap up your internship experience at MCP, you will have the opportunity to create a final presentation highlighting one of the major projects you worked on. This is your chance to showcase what you learned, your role on the project, the contributions you made, challenges you tackled, and the impact your work had. The presentation is designed to highlight your technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and how your efforts helped drive the project’s success.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be currently enrolled in a college program related to Public Administration, Emergency Management, Criminal Justice, Business, Communications, or a related field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with clear speech patterns
  • Analytical thinking and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle confidential matters
  • Display integrity at all times
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams); SmartSheets and SharePoint is a plus
  • Interest in public safety, technology, or consulting is highly desired
  • Confidence with the ability to communicate across market segments
  • Access to a reliable high-speed internet connection to support virtual collaboration and video conferencing
