Position Summary

The AI Automation Specialist is a high-impact, technical execution role designed for a smart, ambitious graduate who thrives on "figuring things out". You will serve as the primary technical right hand to the COO, transforming high-level architectural strategies into functioning automated workflows. This role is responsible for the "connective tissue" of Opkalla—using cutting-edge tools like n8n and Claude Code to sync data across Salesforce, HubSpot, QuickBooks, Power BI and Azure. If you are a systems thinker who wants to build the intelligent backbone of a fast-growing company, this is your sandbox.

Key Accountability Areas

  • Data Orchestration & Integrity: Ensuring a seamless "Source of Truth" by automating the flow of vendor and customer environment data across all core business platforms.
  • Workflow Execution: Taking strategic blueprints and building robust, error-proof automations using n8n and Azure Logic Apps.
  • AI Implementation: Deploying and refining LLM-driven processes via Azure OpenAI and Claude Code to handle unstructured data extraction and business logic.
  • Business Intelligence Support: Maintaining the data pipelines that feed into Power BI to ensure leadership has real-time, accurate visibility into business outcomes.

AI Automation Specialist Job Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain complex cloud workflows in n8n to sync data between HubSpot, Salesforce, and QuickBooks.
  • Utilize Claude Code (CLI) and other AI-assisted development tools to rapidly prototype scripts and troubleshoot API integration hurdles.
  • Execute "Data Cleanup" projects, pulling vendor contact information and customer technical specs from multiple sources into structured Salesforce fields.
  • Manage and monitor Azure resources, including Azure AI Search and Azure Functions, to support RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) workflows.
  • Translate business process requirements into automated logic, handling the "plumbing" of webhooks, REST APIs, and JSON mapping.
  • Collaborate directly with Opkalla’s leadership to refine technical designs and provide feedback on the feasibility of new automation projects.
  • Build and update Power BI dashboards to visualize the results of automated data pipelines and customer success stories.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

  • High "Figure-it-out-ness": Ability to navigate technical documentation (APIs, SDKs) and solve problems independently once a strategic plan is set.
  • Systems Thinking: Understanding of relational databases and how data changes in one system (like HubSpot) impact others (like Salesforce).
  • Technical Literacy: Proficiency with JSON, REST APIs, and basic webhooks.
  • Logic-Driven Mindset: Experience with "If-This-Then-That" logic, either through coding or low-code tools like n8n, Zapier, or Power Automate.
  • Ambitious Curiosity: A self-starter mentality with a desire to stay at the forefront of AI tools and growth opportunities.
  • Communication: Ability to take high-level direction from business leaders and report back on technical progress and solutions.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related technical field (Recent graduates encouraged).
  • Experience: Hands-on experience with at least one programming language (Python or JavaScript preferred).
  • Portfolio/Projects: Proven ability to build technical solutions—whether a school project, a personal automation bot, or a GitHub repository showing the use of APIs.
  • Platform Exposure (Preferred): Familiarity with the Microsoft/Azure ecosystem, Salesforce, or HubSpot is a significant plus.
