ABOUT THE POSITION

Provides regional market share growth by identifying potential products; conducting market research; generating product requirements; determining specifications, production timetables, pricing, and time-integrated plans for product introduction; developing marketing strategies.  The product manager will be the main liaison between the regional sales/business line managers and the factory engineering department for the purpose of clarifying the needs of a specific region in terms of design and function.

Key Activities & Responsibilities

·         Define portfolio vision, positioning, and differentiated value propositions based on customer jobs-to-be-done and market dynamics.

·         Build and maintain a multi-year roadmap balancing innovation, cost, quality, regulatory, and sustainability priorities.

·         Develop business cases for investments (NPI, variants, cost-out) and steward approvals through governance.

·         Set and track portfolio-level KPIs; proactively address performance gaps.

·         Translate strategy into clear product requirements (PRDs/MRDs) with prioritized features and success criteria.

·         Lead cross-functional teams through gated development from concept to launch; manage scope, schedule, and risk.

·         Ensure design-to-value and manufacturability (DFX) in partnership with Engineering and Operations.

·         Plan lifecycle actions (refresh, retrofit, ETO options, EOL) to maximize customer value and margins.

·         Partner with Sales & Marketing to build launch plans, channel strategies, and demand generation assets.

·         Equip dealers and field teams with training, competitive sell strategies, and tools to accelerate adoption.

·         Establish value-based pricing, discount guardrails, and configuration guidance to protect margins.

·         Monitor launch performance and implement corrective plans as needed.

·         Champion the customer—lead VOC, field immersions, and advisory councils to uncover unmet needs and validate concepts.

·         Analyze market size, growth, segmentation, and share; synthesize competitive intelligence to inform strategy.

·         Institutionalize win/loss analysis and feedback loops to drive continuous improvement.

·         Own portfolio P&L levers: pricing, mix, cost, and volume; partner with Finance to forecast and track outcomes.

·         Influence SIOP and supply planning to balance lead time, service levels, and inventory turns.

·         Drive cost-out and VA/VE initiatives without compromising quality, safety, or customer value.

Enterprise Leadership Competencies

·         Demonstrate leadership through influence by aligning cross-functional stakeholders around product vision, priorities, and execution—without direct authority.

·         Leads product strategy development and execution in alignment with enterprise goals, balancing customer needs, technical feasibility, and commercial outcomes.

·         Drives accountability across matrixed teams by setting clear expectations, managing dependencies, and resolving conflicts to ensure timely delivery of product initiatives.

·         Acts as a trusted partner to Engineering, Sales, Operations, and Executive Leadership by providing data-driven insights, recommendations, and risk assessments.

·         Champions disciplined decision-making and change leadership in complex, ambiguous environments.

To be successful in this role, your experience and competencies are:

·         Four (4) year college or university degree in technical or business field or equivalent experience required.

·         8+ years of progressive product management/marketing/engineering experience in industrial/manufacturing or capital equipment.
