ABOUT THE POSITION
Assist in the development and implementation of clear, complete, and accurate working plans and detail drawings from rough or detailed sketches or notes for engineering or manufacturing purposes, according to specified dimensions using computer and specially designed software.
Key Deliverables
· Perform basic product design modifications.
· Provide organization with design that meets the need of the company.
· Assist with different techniques, requirements, and problems.
· Special departmental projects.
Key Activities & Responsibilities
· Propose general design arrangements to meet the plant, systems, and/or unit requirements. Develop specific and complete designs for units, systems, and/or plants. Will incorporate finite element analysis in design work.
· Maintain effective communication and interchange of information within Company.
· Provide assistance and information related to manufacturing techniques, tooling requirements, and shop floor problems.
· Assist in obtaining sources for purchased products.
· Assist in testing activities.
· Update plant drawings and other 2D modeling.
· Taking physical measurements and labeling items adding them to a corresponding layer in drawings.
· Some fixture work; take measurements and dialogue with the operators.
· General engineering tasks: Floor tape, shadow boarding tools, updating work instructions and auditing. Conduct time studies.
To be successful in this role, your experience and competencies are:
· Preferably a student who is pursuing a course study for a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering preferably mechanical, civil/structural, or electrical engineering emphasis.
· Ability to operate necessary office equipment and tools to perform engineering functions which include CAD systems and Autodesk Inventor software.
· Ability to perform duties in environments which include heavy industrial setting, and sites with associated air pollutants and noise levels.
· Ability to climb on equipment, etc. to inspect, troubleshoot, or gather design information.
· Ability to work well with others and demonstrate good oral and written communication skills.

Office
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to risk of injury in an office environment and occasionally a manufacturing shop plant environment. Duties include a typical office setting including extensive computer work, sitting or standing. Manufacturing Environment

The employee may occasionally be exposed to varying levels of dirt, dust, toxic or caustic chemicals, very warm and/or very chilly temperatures.
