    Location: Howard University Hospital – Washington, DC

    Role Summary

    At Howard University Hospital, our Talent Acquisition team plays a critical role in connecting exceptional talent to meaningful careers. As a Talent Acquisition Coordinator, you will support recruitment and onboarding operations that directly impact patient care and organizational success.

    In this role, you will evaluate candidate qualifications for routine and moderately complex positions, coordinate hiring workflows, and oversee onboarding processes across multiple populations. You will work closely with the recruitment team and internal stakeholders to ensure a smooth, compliant, and professional hiring experience for every candidate.

    What You’ll Do

    Recruitment & Candidate Evaluation

    • Conduct phone screens and assess candidate qualifications beyond minimum requirements.
    • Review applications and determine candidate progression for routine and moderately complex roles.
    • Collaborate with the Recruitment Team when higher-acuity or specialized positions require additional review.
    • Manage recruitment workflow coordination for assigned requisitions and update candidate status promptly.
    • Participate in weekly recruitment meetings to discuss hiring progress and candidate movement.
    • Apply organizational recruitment policies and established employment procedures throughout the hiring process.

    Onboarding & Compliance

    • Oversee onboarding processes for employees, students, HU guests, and vendors.
    • Review and resolve standard onboarding discrepancies and determine appropriate next steps in alignment with defined guidelines.
    • Apply organizational policies and regulatory requirements within the scope of the role.
    • Coordinate background checks, health screenings, I-9/E-Verify, credential verification, and other pre-employment requirements.
    • Ensure all onboarding activities adhere to hospital policies, compliance standards, and employment procedures.
    • Serve as the primary onboarding contact for candidates and internal stakeholders, providing timely and accurate guidance.

    ATS & Operational Support

    • Utilize BrightMove to manage applicant workflow and maintain accurate data throughout recruitment and onboarding stages.
    • Monitor system data for accuracy and make routine updates as needed.
    • Identify opportunities for process efficiency and operational improvements within recruitment and onboarding workflows.
    • Support recruitment initiatives, hiring events, and department projects as needed.

    Required Qualifications

    • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred. Five (5) years of relevant experience in recruitment, onboarding, or HR operations may substitute for a degree.
    • Minimum three (3) to five (5) years of experience in recruitment and/or onboarding operations.
    • Experience utilizing an Applicant Tracking System required.
    • Healthcare environment experience preferred.
    • Knowledge of recruitment lifecycle and onboarding processes.
    • Working knowledge of HR practices, employment laws, and regulations.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
    • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

    Pay + Schedule

    Salary Range: $45,902 – $72,147 (based on experience)
    Schedule: Full-Time | Exempt
