What You’ll Do

As a Surgical Scheduler, you’ll play a key role in ensuring patients move smoothly through the surgical process—from initial scheduling to post-operative follow-up.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and accurately schedule surgeries based on provider, facility, and insurance requirements
• Gather and verify all required documentation and pre-operative information
• Schedule and manage all pre- and post-operative appointments
• Maintain surgeon calendars and operating room preferences
• Communicate directly with patients regarding surgery details, instructions, and next steps
• Enter and update surgical information in the EMR, Practice Management system, and Outlook
• Review surgical orders for completeness and accuracy
• Route insurance and payment-related questions appropriately
• Assist team members during high-volume periods
• Maintain strict patient confidentiality

You’ll be instrumental in keeping patient flow smooth and ensuring every detail is handled with precision and care.

What We’re Looking For

Required:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills, especially on the phone
• Proficient computer skills
• Ability to maintain professionalism in high-pressure situations
• Strong commitment to confidentiality

Preferred:

• Experience in a hospital or medical office setting
• Prior scheduling experience in a healthcare environment
