Job Summary

The SAP Integration Lead serves as a subject matter expert responsible for leading the design, development, and delivery of SAP S/4HANA data integrations across the enterprise. This role drives end-to-end integration strategy, oversees technical execution, and ensures alignment with broader transformation initiatives. The lead partners closely with cross-functional teams, BASIS resources, and third-party AMS providers to architect robust integration patterns, oversee ABAP and CPI development, and maintain high-performing, scalable interfaces.

This position also provides technical leadership across multiple concurrent workstreams, reviews and approves development deliverables, and ensures the stability, optimization, and continuous improvement of SAP integration landscapes. The ideal candidate brings deep SAP expertise, strong collaboration skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while upholding BKV's values of integrity, accountability, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

Typical job responsibilities of the SAP Integration Lead include:

  • Own SAP S/4HANA interface design, mappings, and integration patterns, defining standards and best practices for end-to-end delivery
  • Design, develop, and deploy integration flows using SAP CPI/Integration Suite between SAP S/4HANA and third-party systems (cloud, on-premises, and hybrid)
  • Perform hands-on ABAP, CPI, and API development (REST, SOAP, OData, IDoc, RFC, SFTP) across multiple parallel workstreams
  • Develop and maintain Fiori apps using UI5/OData and ABAP code for RICEF objects, with focus on clean-core and modern SAP architecture
  • Handle build, deployment, and primary post go-live support for SAP data integrations (working with BASIS team and third-party AMS provider)
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize integration performance, error handling, and ABAP program efficiency
  • Review and approve technical specifications, integration designs, and development deliverables
  • Support SAP integration roadmap planning and alignment with enterprise transformation initiatives
  • Serve as primary technical liaison with SAP BASIS team via third-party AMS provider
  • Collaborate with functional consultants, business analysts, and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions

Required Skills

  • Understanding of natural gas industry standards, market trends, emerging issues and regulatory requirements
  • Strong hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA, SAP CPI/Integration Suite, and SAP BTP
  • Expert-level ABAP and ABAP Objects programming
  • Proficiency in Fiori/UI5/OData development
  • Experience with cloud, on-premises, and hybrid integration patterns
  • Willingness to learn: ABAP RAP using Eclipse (clean-core architecture), BTP-CPI, and RISE with SAP on AWS
  • Leadership skills including an advanced ability to work cross-departmentally, develop others and influence the organization to achieve results
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and job-related applications. Uses understanding of digital concepts to create basic digital tools

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
  • Typically requires a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience
  • 8+ years of SAP development and integration experience
  • 5+ years with integration technologies (SOAP, REST, OData, XML, JSON, APIs) and SQL
  • 3+ years with DevOps tools, git, and CI/CD pipelines
  • SAP certifications (S/4HANA, CPI, BTP, or ABAP) preferred
  • Experience with SAP HANA modeling preferred
  • Knowledge of SAP ECC environments preferred
  • Experience with data migration or SAP implementation projects preferred
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies preferred
  • Previous experience managing relationships with third-party AMS providers preferred

Physical Demands/Working Conditions

  • This position is based out of the BKV Office in Denver, CO, Fort Worth, TX or Houston, TX. Remote or hybrid work will be considered
  • Some travel up to 10% may be required

Work Environment

Primarily office-based with standard business hours; extended hours may be required depending on business needs. May occasionally be exposed to distracting noise while sharing office space with others.

Compensation

  • Salary Range: $160,000 - $314,000
