The Opportunity
We are seeking a talented and motivated individual with interest/experience in building evaluation and inspections during construction to join our growing team in New York. This position offers a primarily field inspector role with pathways for advancement into project management for candidates with interest in career development.

Core Technical / Project Duties

Works under supervision to perform field inspection identifying conditions in need of repair related to safety and code requirements and prepare reports identifying areas of concern.

Analyze restoration work during construction to verify conformance with design documents and prepare reports on compliance or non-compliance based on observations.

Perform field testing such as water infiltration testing, air leakage testing, sealant adhesion testing, and fastener pull tests as required

Communicate inspection findings clearly and professionally to project managers, contractors, and design teams.

Monitor corrective work to ensure previously identified deficiencies are properly resolved.

Maintain inspection calendar and coordinate with several project managers on job status and deliverable timeline

Maintain inspection equipment, testing instruments, and safety gear in proper working condition.

Accuracy, quality, completeness, and schedule adherence can be maintained with manager support

Adhere to site safety protocols and company quality standards while working in active construction environments.

Required to learn the firm’s project management and practice standards.

Continuing education to improve technical knowledge and skills through outside and in-house programs, seminars, training sessions, site visits, trade periodicals, and other resources.

High School or Associate degree in a related field and/or applicable work experience
0-3+ years of experience in field evaluation and/or construction administration
Advanced proficiency with New York City compliance requirements
Understanding of concrete, masonry, structural steel, welding and fireproofing.
Must be physically fit enough to walk fire escapes and stairwells.
Experience with Revit or similar modeling software is highly desirable
Strong technical writing skills for reports, memos, and calculations
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities with cross-disciplinary collaboration skills
Self-driven, detail-oriented, organized approach with ability to manage multiple tasks with manager support under deadlines
Willingness to travel to job sites throughout NYC and the surrounding areas as needed.
