POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Deputy Program Manager will provide program, project, and contract management expertise to the Program Manager. Support will be in the areas of Project Management, including but not limited to evaluation of project performance, contract management, cost/schedule/risk analysis, commercial and Government construction management, coordination of project personnel, project stakeholder status reporting, project life cycle management, quality assurance, and project/resource planning.

Responsibilities include:

  • Addressing emergent issues by performing research and providing requested information.
  • Project planning, execution, and status reporting;
  • Coordinate personnel for project reviews
  • Execution/implementation of contract and program requirements.
  • Identifying and tracking issues through closure;
  • Drafting input to project documents and presentations;
  • Review, analysis, and reporting of contract performance against cost and schedule baselines;
  • Identification/quantification of project risks and mitigation actions;
  • Configuration management, maintenance, and storage of project records and documentation;
  • Estimating and tracking project budgets and staffing plans;
  • Supporting corporate process development and process improvements;
  • Support employee and subcontractor management;
  • Respond to requests for estimate and development of proposals;
  • Provide support to project execution

 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Business Management, Project Management, or related field and a minimum of 3 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Additional consideration may be given to professionally recognized training and certifications in related fields.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven ability to solve problems creatively;
  • Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices;
  • Proficiency with Scheduling, MS Office, and Adobe Acrobat;
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written);
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful;
  • Ability to manage projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline;
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Ability to obtain a DOE Q Clearance.
  • Ability to work in a diverse work environment.
  • Satisfactory results of a pre-employment screening, which includes a background check and drug screening in accordance with Federal requirements (details below),
  • Ability to fulfill and promote L&A core values.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience on construction contracts.
  • Familiarity with the following applications: Unanet, Office 365
  • Ability to manage/analyze datasets using Microsoft applications
  • Strong business acumen, and exceptional inter-personal skills;
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DOE-Q security clearance when required;
  • Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle;
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
