Senior Security Engineer

Location: Remote (Hybrid or Remote available; if Hybrid, location must be local to Vienna, VA or Pensacola, FL. 

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Security Engineer to support our client's global security infrastructure. This role combines technical expertise in cloud security solutions with strategic security architecture and design. You will serve as a key technical resource, managing enterprise security solutions, collaborating across teams, and driving security initiatives that protect critical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Remain available for on-call support for major outage issues related to Palo Alto Strata Cloud Manager
  • Architect, design, and deploy Palo Alto Strata Cloud Manager solutions
  • Maintain and optimize Palo Alto Strata Cloud Manager infrastructure
  • Develop integrations between proxy solutions and other cybersecurity platforms
  • Serve as technical liaison between our client and Palo Alto Support
  • Design security solutions based on use cases and business requirements
  • Lead proof of concepts and technical evaluations of technologies, designs, and solutions with recommendations
  • Monitor emerging technologies and threats; proactively assess adoption opportunities
  • Support development of cybersecurity requirements, design artifacts, architecture plans, and policies
  • Define security development and test efforts; implement security controls across networking devices, databases, operating systems, and hardware/software components
  • Integrate cybersecurity development activities across teams
  • Analyze cybersecurity data and test results
  • Support design, protection, and management of security services for global infrastructure
  • Support Broadcom Bluecoat Secure Web Gateway enterprise proxy solution
  • Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to diverse audiences, from non-technical staff to executive-level decision-makers
  • Collaborate with IT administrators and executive stakeholders to understand requirements and position solutions accordingly

Required Qualifications

  • Highly proficient in architecture, design, and deployment of Palo Alto Strata Cloud Manager
  • Strong written, oral, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Self-motivated and self-educating mindset
  • Experience with enterprise security solutions and cybersecurity architecture

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with Broadcom Bluecoat Secure Web Gateway
  • Knowledge of emerging cybersecurity threats and technologies
  • Experience with proof of concept development and technical evaluations
