SUMMARY

Working with/through Astec, Inc. sales force, the Sales Coordinator is responsible for compiling and documenting equipment specifications, and pricing in accordance with customer and sales requirements. May work directly with outside customers or dealers on proposals as required.

  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes  the following, other duties may be assigned:

 

§  Researches and prepares used and new equipment price estimates and proposals using established resources within Astec.

§  Coordinating with Engineering and Purchasing to create pricing for new             product designs.

§  Acts as a communication liaison between field sales reps, manufacturing, and engineering associates.

§  Compiles final sales contracts from various proposals for the Regional Sales Manager to present to customer.

§  Develops work orders in accordance with contract specifications.

§  Participates in work order meetings with manufacturing, engineering and sales representatives.

§  Responsible for creating and changing databases to represent current product specs and pricing.

§  Responsible for product proposals and pricing for both domestic and international sales.

§  May be called on to represent Astec in showing and discussing specifications related to used              equipment.

§  May be called on to tour various customers and/or dealers through Astec, Inc. properties.

 

 

GENERAL

This position may be utilized as a development position for a future career as a Regional Sales Manager. 

The Regional Sales Manager position requires an individual to travel, and any subsequent promotion to Regional Sales Manager will require extensive travel and possible relocation.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

§  Possess mechanical aptitude; to include basic terms knowledge and machinery orientation.

§  Prefer some knowledge of highway construction and/or asphalt process equipment.

§  Basic computer skills and knowledge.

§  Excellent communication skills and conflict resolution skills.

§  Ability to process multiple tasks while maintaining composure and balance.

§  Must possess skills in algebra and trigonometry, and basic profit and loss premises.

§  Must possess skills and ability to read and interpret mechanical engineering drawings.

§  Ability to travel, both domestically and internationally, as required.

 

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

§  Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Windows required.

§  Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required.

§  Prefer 3-5 years of experience working in professional environment.

§  Prefer 2 years or more post high school education in related field.

§  Prefer some experience in mechanical or machinery related industry.

§  Sales experience preferred, along with an understanding of customer relations.

 

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business communications in memo and e-mail form.  Ability to write reports and business correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers, groups of managers, associates, clients, and the general public.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. 

 

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
