Senior HRIS Analyst

Role Summary
As a Senior HRIS Analyst at Howard University Hospital, you will own the day-to-day operation, integrity, and continuous improvement of our HRIS platform — the system that powers every paycheck, every benefit election, and every workforce decision across our academic medical center. Reporting to the Manager, HRIS, you will administer Lawson and its connected systems, manage data integrations, deliver reporting and analytics, lead system projects, and partner across HR, IT, Finance, and external vendors to keep our HR technology accurate, secure, and aligned with the work it supports.

What You’ll Do
System Administration & Operations
- Administer and maintain Lawson HRIS modules including Core HR, Payroll, Time & Attendance, and Talent
- Configure system settings, parameters, tables, and workflows to support evolving HR business needs
- Coordinate testing and validation of patches, releases, and version upgrades; develop and execute test plans
- Perform routine system maintenance and parameter changes to ensure functionality of HR processes
Integrations & Data Management
- Manage and monitor integrations between Lawson and connected systems including payroll, time-tracking, and finance systems
- Troubleshoot interface failures and data discrepancies in partnership with Information Technology and external vendors
- Ensure the accuracy, integrity, confidentiality, and currency of personnel data across Lawson and connected systems
- Perform routine data audits and reconciliations; coordinate mass data updates, load files, and Personnel Action Form (PAF) entry standards
Reporting & Analytics
- Design, develop, and maintain custom and standard reports, dashboards, and ad hoc analytics
- Support HR leadership, Compensation, Talent Acquisition, Employee Relations, Payroll, and Finance with timely, accurate workforce data
- Produce compliance reporting including EEO-1, ACA, OSHA, and other regulatory submissions
- Conduct HR data modeling and trend analysis to support workforce planning, negotiations, and grievance processes
Security & Compliance
- Administer HRIS security including role design, user access provisioning and de-provisioning, segregation of duties, and audit support
- Partner with HR leadership and IT to enforce data privacy and confidentiality controls
- Maintain documentation of system configurations, security roles, integrations, and standard operating procedures
Projects & Process Improvement
- Lead or support HRIS-related projects including module implementations, upgrades, vendor transitions, and process automation
- Document business and functional requirements; conduct user acceptance testing
- Identify opportunities to streamline HR processes through technology and self-service
End-User Support & Stakeholder Partnership
- Serve as the escalation point for HR end-user system issues; troubleshoot pay and data-related discrepancies
- Develop training materials and deliver training to HR staff and managers on Lawson functionality, self-service tools, and reporting
- Manage relationships with HRIS vendors and integration partners; coordinate support tickets and enhancement requests
- Partner cross-functionally with Compensation, Talent Acquisition, Employee Relations, Payroll, IT, and Finance
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field required
- Minimum four (4) years of HRIS experience required, including hands-on Lawson administration
- Demonstrated experience managing HRIS integrations, reporting, and data analytics
- Proficiency in SQL and report-writing tools (e.g., Crystal Reports, IBM Cognos, or equivalent)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and complex formulas
- Working knowledge of HRIS security principles, including role design and segregation of duties
- Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills
- High degree of discretion and ability to maintain strict confidentiality of personnel data
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field
- Healthcare or hospital HRIS experience
- Experience with Lawson Smart Office, Infor Process Automation, or related Lawson tooling
- Experience supporting unionized workforces and collective bargaining data needs

Position Details
Department HRIS Division Human Resources Reports To Manager, HRIS FLSA Status Exempt Schedule Full-Time | Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM Pay & Schedule
This is a full-time, exempt position. Salary range: $80,000 – $105,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
