Job Title: Construction Project Engineer

Job Summary
The Construction Project Engineer supports the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects from pre-construction through closeout. This role works closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and clients to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with design specifications and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing all phases of construction projects, including pre-construction, procurement, construction, and closeout
  • Review plans, specifications, and submittals to ensure compliance with contract documents
  • Coordinate and track RFIs (Requests for Information), submittals, and change orders
  • Maintain project documentation, including drawings, schedules, and daily reports
  • Support scheduling efforts and monitor project progress against milestones
  • Collaborate with field teams and subcontractors to resolve technical and coordination issues
  • Assist with cost control, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company safety programs
  • Participate in project meetings and provide status updates to stakeholders
  • Help manage inspections, punch lists, and project closeout documentation

Required Qualifications

  • 1–4 years of experience in construction or engineering (internships may count)
  • Basic understanding of construction methods, materials, and building systems
  • Familiarity with construction documents and contracts
  • Proficiency in software such as Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, and scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6 or MS Project)
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
  • Experience working on commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards
  • Experience with BIM/VDC tools (e.g., Revit, Navisworks)

Work Environment

  • Combination of office and active construction site environments
  • Frequent site visits with exposure to weather, noise, and heavy equipment
  • May require travel or relocation depending on project needs
