POSITION DESCRIPTION
This position will support strategy, capability integrator, and a program development leader for establishing and growing R&D programs in support of National and Homeland Security Directorate, with a specific focus on Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) threats. The CBRN portfolio may include DHS CWMD, DHS S&T, DTRA, USSOCOM, DOE NNSA, EPA and the NGB CBRN Enterprise (CRE).
Manages and directs the daily tasks required to perform ongoing support of design, construction, startup and/or operations/ maintenance activities of complex high technology systems or projects. Renders expert opinions on engineering and technical issues, provides recommendations to project design and construction teams in specific areas of expertise. Provides independent reviews and assessments in areas of specialized expertise and provides guidance to project teams in delivering results on projects of complex, high- technology nature. Interfaces with management personnel and
customer representatives. Develops and enforces work standards, assigns schedules, reviews work quality, communicates goals, objectives, and policies of the organization to subordinates. Provides leadership for the project team, coordinates with the functional organizations, and supervises senior personnel within the project organization.EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Masters degree in Engineering, Science or Business Management. Ten (10 years) of directly applicable experience in specialized technical field and is acknowledged as an expert in the specific area in question. Equivalent years of education and experience can be considered.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior experience within DOE/NNSA.
- Prior experience as a Program Leader/Manager.
- Prior experience in training.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance.
- Ability to work in a diverse work environment.
- Satisfactory results of a pre-employment screening, which includes a background check and drug screening in accordance with Federal requirements (details below),
- Ability to fulfill and promote L&A core values.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Active Q is highly preferred.
- Prior experience within National Laboratory setting.
LOCATION
- Savannah River National Laboratory – Aiken, SC.
- This will be a part-time position up to 20 hours weekly.
