SUMMARY:
The Network Field Operations Engineer is responsible for Installation, maintenance, and Tier II repair of all Network Facilities. Serves customers by installing and servicing systems and products.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
· Works with Network Engineering and Network Operation Center on any equipment or facility needs for maintaining service or new installations.
· Works closely with Service Delivery on new service installations and testing turnup.
· Assists with service upgrades requiring new equipment or configurations.
· Test fiber and fiber components for faults and degraded services.
· Fusion Splice fiber during installations or maintenance calls.
· Serves existing and future accounts by analyzing work orders, planning daily travel schedules, investigating complaints, conducting tests, and resolving problems.
· Establishes service by studying system requirements, ordering and gathering components and parts, completing installation, and performing acceptance tests.
· Local travel is a requirement.
· Maintains rapport with customers, internally and externally, by examining complaints, identifying solutions, suggesting improved methods and techniques, and recommending system improvements.
· Keeps personal equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs.
· Documents service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
· Maintains customer confidence by keeping service information confidential.
· Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publications.
· Accomplishes operations and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
· Travel to customer locations throughout the Dobson Fiber service area on a continuous day-to-day basis.
QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
· Work independently to research and resolve issues with equipment.
· Trouble-shoot issues remotely utilizing provided software and an internet connection.
· Available to be on-call for emergency service.
· Must be able to work independently as well as within a team.
· Strong organizational and time management skills with an ability to establish priorities and proceed with objectives with little supervision.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
· Clean driving record.
· Ability to think creatively on the job.
· Proven history in working within a ticketing system.
· Expert level in verbal communication while driving technical issues to resolution.
· Willingness to tackle complex hardware tasks.
· Working backbone knowledge of routers, switches and other networking devices
