POSITION DESCRIPTION
- Provide overall management and direction of engineering, procurement, and construction of multiple complex multi-million-dollar projects critical to operations.
- Responsible for a wide variety of less significant projects managed by less qualified Project Managers.
- Establish and manage numerous diverse project management teams, providing policy direction, broad program direction, and establishing priorities needed to integrate numerous ongoing area projects.
- Manage project cost, schedule, scope, and subcontract matrices, while adhering to quality, environmental, and safety objectives.
- Establish and control project costs, schedule, and technical baselines and provide effective management of project staff and matrix personnel to control baselines.
- Manage professional and non-exempt employees to include career development, motivation, performance review, and salary administration.
- Initiate and frequently deliver concise and accurate presentations to internal and external customers regarding project implementation plans, status, changes, and new approaches, including complex technical, organizational, and financial issues.
- Perform risk analysis and provide decision authority for approving corrective actions and establishing priorities.
- Manage project efforts to ensure progress is within schedule, cost, and budget.
- Mentor less experienced project managers.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor of science in engineering, construction management, accounting, finance, or business. Experience can be considered in lieu of education.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of relevant experience. Additional experience required if non-degreed.
- Prior experience as a Project Manager in a DOE or Nuclear setting.
- Experience with project management duties such as: life cycle cost, schedule, budget, risk management.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a “Q” clearance.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance.
- Ability to work in a diverse work environment.
- Satisfactory results of a pre-employment screening, which includes a background check and drug screening in accordance with Federal requirements (details below),
- Ability to fulfill and promote L&A core values.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Active DOE Q‑level security clearance.
- Experience with 413.3B capital line item projects.
- Experience and understanding of EVMS.
LOCATION
· Aiken, South Carolina - Long Term positions supporting capital projects office.
· Anticipated Work Schedule: 4/10 or 9/80.
· Onsite or Remote? 100% Onsite. Local candidates or willing to relocate at the candidate's expense.
