Become a Key Player as a Welder
You will deliver high-quality manual and semi-automatic welds that support fuel-system components and the wider production mission. You will work onsite on the 2nd shift (3:00 PM–1:30 AM, Mon–Thu) and may be required to train on 1st shift for several weeks during onboarding. Your work directly affects product integrity, safety, and downstream manufacturing stakeholders.
Here's How You'll Make an Impact on the Team
- Perform manual, automatic and semi-automatic welding, tacking, and weld repair on high-temperature and high-strength metal alloys
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols to meet specifications
- Select, set up, and maintain welding equipment (e.g., TIG, JetLine, AMI, robot, EBW, laser welding)
- Clean, cut, bend, clamp, and tack components into position and perform heat straightening as required
- Monitor weld quality during and after welding using visual inspection and assist with troubleshooting
- Perform minor repairs on welding machinery and help maintain a clean, safe work environment while wearing required PPE
- Complete and pass specific weld qualification tests during the interview/hire process and provide weld pictures when requested
Here's What You'll Need to Be Successful in This Role
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrated TIG welding knowledge and ability to pass AWS D17.1 1G weld test (0.063” SS321 and 0.063” Hast-X butt joints at 1G; visual, FPI, and X-Ray testing; pass weld defects visual inspection)
- Ability to read, write and understand instructions, procedures, drawings and blueprints
- High level of manual dexterity and reliable judgment
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to accurately perform moderately complex mathematical calculations
- Basic computer operation skills
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs
Here's What Else Might Help You Out
- Experience with semi-automatic or orbital welders
- Prior experience welding thin materials and performing continuous GTAW welds over longer spans
Pay Range
$25.00 + DOE /hour
