Become a Key Player as a Machinist A
You will operate and maintain production machining equipment to produce parts that meet specification and support lean productivity goals. You will work with manufacturing teammates and supervisors in an onsite second-shift role (1:30 PM–10:00 PM) to ensure quality, throughput, and continuous improvement.
Here's How You'll Make an Impact on the Team
- Set up and run production machines, perform operations such as cutting, shaping, deburring, forming, drilling, and reaming
- Make machine adjustments, report issues, and rework parts as needed to meet specifications
- Perform tapping, spot-facing, chamfering, countersinking, and counterboring to close tolerances
- Align and fasten parts using standard fixtures and established methods
- Adjust feeds, speeds, and depth of cut to machine quality parts per documentation
- Remove burrs and finish parts to specification
- Inspect parts using measuring instruments, gauges, comparators, and magnification equipment
- Perform routine equipment maintenance and keep work area clean and orderly
- Perform statistical process control (SPC) tasks and participate in lean initiatives
Here's What You'll Need to Be Successful in This Role
- Minimum of two years of related machining experience
- Ability to read and follow blueprints, specifications, and verbal instructions
- Working knowledge of machine shop mathematics (may include trigonometry)
- Demonstrated ability to apply lean concepts and tools
- Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills and ability to work in a team
- Ability to use job-specific software applications and employee self-service systems
