Role Overview

We are looking for a Manual QA Engineer with strong functional testing experience and basic exposure to automation testing. The candidate will be responsible for validating web applications, creating and executing test cases, identifying defects, supporting releases, and assisting the automation team by preparing automation-ready test scenarios.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Review requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Create, maintain, and execute test cases and test scenarios.
  • Perform functional, regression, smoke, UI, integration, and end-to-end testing.
  • Identify, document, and track defects through resolution.
  • Perform defect retesting and regression validation.
  • Support sprint testing, release testing, UAT, and production validation.
  • Write and execute basic SQL queries for backend data validation.
  • Identify repeatable manual test cases that can be considered for automation.
  • Prepare clear test steps and test data for automation engineers.
  • Execute existing automation scripts when required.
  • Review automation test results and report failures to the appropriate team.
  • Work closely with developers, product owners, QA leads, and automation engineers.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, QA planning, and test status reporting.

 

Required Skills

 

  • Strong experience in manual QA testing for web applications.
  • Good understanding of SDLC, STLC, defect lifecycle, and QA best practices.
  • Experience creating test cases, test scenarios, test data, and test execution reports.
  • Hands-on experience with functional, regression, smoke, UI, integration, and end-to-end testing.
  • Ability to write and execute basic SQL queries for data validation.
  • Basic understanding of automation testing concepts.
  • Basic understanding of REST APIs and API testing.
  • Ability to execute existing automated test suites and review test reports.
  • Ability to identify test cases suitable for automation.
  • Experience with defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail, or similar.
  • Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

 

Preferred Skills

 

  • Exposure to automation tools such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or similar.
  • Basic understanding of CI/CD concepts.
  • Exposure to API testing using Postman or similar tools.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
  • Basic knowledge of Git is a plus.
  • Basic cloud or environment testing exposure is a plus.
