Leveraging innovative solutions and technologies, we serve customers all over the world.ABOUT THE POSITIONThe Maintenance Technician III is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems, and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.Key Deliverables• Respond quickly in the event of an emergency repair.• Fix potential safety hazards to avoid injuries.• Perform maintenance of electrical systems.• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical systems across a wide voltage range (12VDC up to 480VAC)Key Activities & Responsibilities• Install, run, and secure electrical conduit (EMT, rigid, flexible) to code.• Install and maintain production machines and the plant/facility’s equipment• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production• Conduct scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service• Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities• Utilize mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines• Execute regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to complete required maintenance and service• Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test and adjust• Perform a variety of plumbing, maintenance, and carpentry functions• Operate a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties• Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision• Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas• Achieve quality results as it relates to the Company’s vision and mission• Promote and educate others on Astec’s core values• Follow company policies, procedures, and safety rules at all times.• Size circuits, breakers, conductors, and components based on load requirementsTo be successful in this role, your experience and competencies are:• High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience• Preferred 5+ years of manufacturing experience; Strong experience with 480v electrical.• Ethical conduct is essential.• Demonstrated ability and initiative to achieve results is required.• Must work well independently and with others for the purpose of achieving mutual goals.• Technical capability and problem-solving skills are critical.• Must be able to communicate effectively across departments to meet the needs of internal customers.• Experience with both low-voltage controls and high-voltage power systems• Ability to trace faults through prints and isolate issues efficiently• Work safely around live circuits and follow all lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures• Troubleshoot and repair control circuits, motors, starters, relays, and VFDsSupervisor and Leadership ExpectationsNoneOur Culture and ValuesEmployees that become part of Astec embody the values below throughout their work.• Continuous devotion to meeting the needs of our customers• Honesty and integrity in all aspects of business• Respect for all individuals• Preserving entrepreneurial spirit and innovation• Safety, quality and productivity as means to ensure successWORK ENVIRONMENTManufacturing EnvironmentShop manufacturing environment exposures include exposure to moving mechanical parts, machinery, tools and equipment, vibration, fumes or airborne particles, motorized vehicles, welding and machining operations, outside weather conditions and exposure to the risk of electric shock.
