Overview
The VP of Marketing will be responsible for overseeing and driving the marketing demand strategy and activities across B2C enrollments and B2B school districts. The VP of Marketing plays a crucial and hands-on role in developing and implementing effective marketing initiatives to promote schools, B2B products/service, build brand awareness, and drive revenue growth. This position requires a combination of strategic thinking, creative vision, and hands on ability to drive leads and revenue growth. This leadership role requires a proven marketing professional with a passion for education. 

Essential Duties

  • Marketing strategy
    • Develop and execute the overall B2C and B2B marketing strategy. 
      Collaborate with the executive team to define the marketing goals, objectives, campaigns, and strategies aligned with enrollment, retention, and revenue growth. 
    • Develop comprehensive marketing plans to achieve these goals and oversee their execution. 
  • Brand management
    • Establish and maintain a strong brand identity that resonates with the target audience. 
    • Ensure consistent messaging and visual identity across all personas, marketing channels and touchpoints. 
    • Understand brand motivators state by state and monitor brand perception and make necessary adjustments to enhance brand positioning.
  • Marketing programs
    • Lead the marketing team through various marketing programs including PPCl and lead generation activities, digital advertising, retargeting/nurture campaigns, content marketing, brand marketing, marketing partnerships, and local events and conferences.
  • Product marketing
    • Collaborate with product management teams to develop effective product marketing strategies. 
    • Define target market segments, positioning, and value propositions for each product or service. 
    • Drive product launches and develop go-to-market plans. 
  • Marketing campaigns
    • Develop and implement integrated omnichannel campaigns to effectively reach target audiences to generate awareness and interest, including press releases, advertising, events, and digital media. 
    • Ensure consistent and compelling messaging across all communication touchpoints. 
    • Orchestrate content for landing pages, collateral, social, emails, websites, influencer marketing, and blog posts. 
  • Lead generation
    • Build pipeline through inbound and outbound go-to-market movements. 
    • Managing demand generation and the inbound lead flow processes. 
    • Own reporting and analytics to determine the impact of marketing efforts on pipeline, revenue, and CAC. 
  • Team leadership
    • Build and lead a high-performing marketing team. 
    • Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members, fostering their professional growth and development. 
    • Set clear objectives and performance metrics, and regularly evaluate and provide feedback to ensure the team's success. 
  • Budget management
    • Develop and manage the marketing budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to achieve marketing goals. 
    • Monitor and analyze marketing spend and return on investment (ROI) to optimize budget allocation and maximize marketing effectiveness. 
  • Collaboration and stakeholder management
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as sales, product management, and finance, to align marketing initiatives with overall business objectives. 
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including partners, vendors, and industry influencers. 
  • You will play a key role in our collective success by proactively pivoting to support emerging business needs and strategic priorities directed by your manager.

Knowledge, Skills & Attributes

  • A minimum of 10+ years of experience in marketing roles, with progressive responsibility and leadership experience.
  • Proven experience working independently with minimal supervision, including the ability to manage a digital task list and maintain a stable remote (home-office) infrastructure.
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of experience using the Google Workspace suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive) in a professional or academic setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex ideas via written channels (Email, Google Chat, and Document Comments) with high clarity and low ambiguity.
  • Access to a private, secure, high-speed internet connection with a minimum of 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speeds.
  • Strong strategic thinking and ability to develop and execute marketing plans aligned with business objectives. 
  • Excellent understanding of market research, data analysis, and marketing metrics. 
  • In-depth knowledge of digital marketing channels, tools, and best practices.
  • Demonstrated success in building and managing high-performing marketing teams.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and inspire others.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities. 
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously. 
  • Familiarity with AI Demand generation channels, industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in marketing. 
  • Experience in K12 virtual school lead generation is a plus.

Education & Certification Requirements

  • BS degree in marketing, business administration, or a related field.
  • MBA preferred, but not required.

Required Skills
