Become a Key Player as a Drafter/Designer

You will produce accurate tooling and fixture drawings that enable manufacturing and release-ready documentation for the organization. In this short-term, onsite role near Charleston, SC, you will work closely with engineering support and production stakeholders to document existing fixturing and ensure drawings match physical hardware. This is an onsite assignment (onsite required) for an estimated two-month period.

Here's How You'll Make an Impact on the Team

  • Create approximately 40 new fixture/tooling drawings using Creo Parametric based on existing fixtures and reference PDFs
  • Update and verify approximately 55 existing fixture drawings and confirm conformance with physical tooling
  • Prepare drawings in Creo to be release-ready, subject to engineering review
  • Use specifications, vendor data, and reference materials to complete drafting assignments
  • Perform tolerance studies and related calculations to support drawing accuracy
  • Adhere to drawing format, standards, and organizational guidelines

Here's What You'll Need to Be Successful in This Role

  • Six years of drafting experience and an AA degree in drafting, or a trade-school engineering certificate, or demonstrated ability to perform the described responsibilities
  • Proficient Creo Parametric skills with a minimum of 6,000 hours of hands-on experience
  • Experience designing fixtures and tooling for aerospace or related fields
  • Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (ANSI Y14.5)
  • Familiarity with military engineering drawing standards (DOD-STD-100 and DOD-D-1000)
  • Understanding of machine shop practices, descriptive geometry, and trigonometry
  • Proficiency with 2D CAD/CAM and 3D CAD/CAM wireframe and solids
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to work as a participative team player
  • Comfortable using personal computer software (Word, Excel, etc.)

Pay Range

$40.00 - $50.00/hour
