Overview
The Systems Integrations Lead will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the integrations that connect Stellar Virtual's core business and learning platforms into a reliable, scalable technology ecosystem. This position will primarily focus on API architecture, system interoperability, and cross-platform data integration, requiring the ability to design secure, efficient, and sustainable data flows that ensure accurate information is available across Salesforce, Student Information Systems, the Learning Management System, and other enterprise platforms to fulfill our mission of empowering families and unleashing potential.

Essential Duties

  • Integration Architecture and Platform Connectivity
    • Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable integrations between Salesforce, Student Information Systems (SIS), the Learning Management System (LMS), the data warehouse, and other enterprise platforms.
    • Own API connectivity, authentication methods, endpoint configuration, and integration architecture to support reliable cross-platform communication.
    • Evaluate new technology solutions and collaborate with vendors to ensure integration capabilities align with organizational and technical requirements.
  • Data Integration and System Reliability
    • Develop and maintain field mappings, synchronization processes, and data exchange standards that ensure consistent and accurate information across integrated systems.
    • Proactively monitor integration health, troubleshoot synchronization issues, and resolve data discrepancies through root cause analysis and long-term solutions.
    • Partner with platform administrators, the Automations Engineer, and the Data Analyst to ensure integrations support downstream automation, reporting, and operational workflows.
  • Governance, Testing and Documentation
    • Establish and maintain integration standards, documentation, and governance practices that promote data integrity, security, and compliance with student data privacy requirements.
    • Coordinate testing and validation activities for new or modified integrations to ensure changes are implemented without disrupting existing business processes.
    • Develop and maintain integration architecture diagrams, technical documentation, and troubleshooting resources that support long-term sustainability and knowledge sharing.
  • You will play a key role in our collective success by proactively pivoting to support emerging business needs and strategic priorities directed by your manager.

Knowledge, Skills & Attributes

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in systems integration, integration engineering, API development, or a related technical role, preferably in a remote environment.
  • 2+ years of experience working within K–12 education, virtual education, higher education, or education technology environments, with a strong understanding of student lifecycle processes (enrollment, attendance, support ticketing).
  • Proven experience working independently with minimal supervision, including the ability to manage a digital task list and maintain a stable remote (home-office) infrastructure.
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of experience using the Google Workspace suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive) in a professional or academic setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex ideas via written channels (Email, Google Chat, and Document Comments) with high clarity and low ambiguity.
  • Access to a private, secure, high-speed internet connection with a minimum of 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speeds.
  • Strong experience designing, implementing, and supporting REST API integrations, authentication protocols (OAuth, API keys, JWT), and cross-platform data exchange.
  • Experience with data mapping, system interoperability, integration troubleshooting, and production support across multiple enterprise applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve data synchronization issues through root cause analysis and long-term technical solutions.
  • Familiarity with Student Information Systems (SIS), Learning Management Systems (LMS), CRM platforms, or comparable enterprise applications.
  • Knowledge of data governance principles, security best practices, and FERPA or other student data privacy requirements.

  • Technical Problem Solving: Identifies root causes of integration and data issues, implements sustainable solutions, and maintains system reliability.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partners with technical teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to deliver integration solutions that support organizational goals.

Education & Certification Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required for all positions. 
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field highly preferred.

Required Skills
