Schedule: Full-Time, Monday - Friday, Standard Hours 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Join our team as a Medical Assistant and make a direct impact on patient care and health outcomes. In this rewarding role, you'll be the vital link between patients and our medical providers, ensuring every patient receives compassionate, efficient care. 

What You'll Do

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and well-stocked clinical environment that meets all health and safety standards
  • Conduct pre-visit planning and screening protocols, identifying due tests and vaccines according to UDS measures and CDC immunization guidelines
  • Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs, recording visit reasons and medical history, performing medication reconciliation, and verifying allergies and recent medical visits
  • Perform blood draws, heel sticks, and waived laboratory tests with accuracy and precision, ensuring proper patient identification and order verification
  • Prepare and label laboratory specimens according to policy guidelines to ensure accurate testing and results
  • Monitor patient flow throughout the clinic, communicating any delays and setting clear expectations with both providers and patients
  • Support continuity of care by coordinating with the healthcare team through appointment scheduling, phone contact, written reports, and electronic messaging
  • Assist with medication fills, durable medical equipment (DME) requests, and referral coordination
  • Provide professional chaperone support during sensitive examinations and procedures
  • Gather and prepare instruments and materials needed for procedures, assisting medical providers as requested
  • Clean and sterilize instruments following standard precautions and autoclave procedures
  • Maintain strict infection control practices including hand hygiene, proper PPE use, biohazard waste disposal, and safe injection techniques
  • Maintain accurate and complete patient medical records
  • Assist with translation services and patient communications to support our diverse patient population

Required Qualifications

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish
  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Ability to work full-time in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program
  • Medical Assistant certification (CMA or RMA)
  • Previous clinical or healthcare experience
  • Experience working in a federally qualified health center (FQHC) or community health setting
