You will ensure hose products meet specifications by operating coiling and pressure-test equipment and performing inspections. You will work on 2nd shift (3:30 PM – 11:30 PM), onsite with the team and report to the Value Stream Team Leader; the role requires flexibility for mandatory overtime and close collaboration with maintenance and quality.
Here's How You'll Make an Impact on the Team
- Coil hoses to specification: verify part numbers, hose size, job numbers, dimensions, tag colors, and take-up reel diameter
- Inspect hose for defects (broken wires, kinks, bony hose, missing wires) and remove nonconforming sections; record attributes and scrap on inspection sheets
- Operate and set up pressure test equipment (proof and/or impact modes): configure jaws, mandrels, prefill, cycle time, and purge; record PSI on tags
- Prepare, label, and place tested hose in quality inspection area; cut burst and periodic samples as required
- Maintain a clean, orderly work area and follow 5S, safety regulations, and quality guidelines
- Report production and equipment issues to the Direct Lead and work with maintenance to resolve problems
Here's What You'll Need to Be Successful in This Role
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform regular lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, twisting, and squatting
- Basic computer skills and ability to read/record inspection data
- Strong attention to detail and continuous mental/visual/audio alertness to monitor machine sounds and product quality
- Good verbal and interpersonal communication and decision-making skills
- Willingness to complete on-the-job training (1–8 weeks, up to 10 weeks if needed)
Here's What Else Might Help You Out
- Prior production or manufacturing experience
- Comfort working in high-noise environments and using required safety equipment (steel-toe shoes, eye and hearing protection)
Pay Range
$16.60 - $20.75/hour
